Heard debate on 5AA tonite.

Personally I think it hard to define great.
Ben Hart was my greatest Crow and now its Roo.
Will it be Hentschel to re write popular opinion in 4years time?

Its cyclic, but I cant see there being a Greater Player than anyone playing since 1991 or until 2011...at least.

Theres been some good ones...

Modra was exiting and special rather than great.
Rehn was a talent who played out of his skin....even scarred by injury
Hart was a general and as courageuos as Custer.
Jarman was a freak and a ball handling champion.
McLeod is a tiwi islander and big match performer.

...I wouldnt add any others for fear of spoiling the broth.

No I can't see anybody outranking Roo as Top Crow for quite a long time. He's a once in a generation player, he is everything. He IS the Adelaide Footy Club. There may one day be a better player for the Crows, but the greatest Crow, is a term that belongs to Roo and will for a long long time.

On weight of pure accolades, achievements and impact Ricciuto is arguably the greatest South Australian to ever lace a boot, let alone Crow.

Definitely up there with Ebert, Blight, Robran, Farmer, Platten and Bradley.

Probably should add Kernahan to that list too.

Firstly Rucci's article was appeasment so he could get away with his typical crap we get much like Port trolls on this site.

Secondly we should rejoice, I grew up in an era of flair of guts of skill of champions everyone today winges is taken out of the game. But we got Ricciuto who displays all of that and then some who left his heart on the footy field more so than anyone Ive seen in 28 years of following SANFL/VFL footy.

We should rejoice because we know what this man achieved and what he sacrificed for us, media wise and generally it aint aknowlaged.

I take note of the forum users who do.

we should be thankful we dont get media hype jibes on him or over rated stuff.

Pure heart, pure pride, the ultimate leader.

Watch us grow this year if guy gets another shot.

ROO is a champion the only thing missing is a normsmith which hopefully if the fairy tale continues he'll come back we make the Grany he kicks 8 wins the Normsmith and become a Premireship captain! now that would be a way to go out!!....or end of a season and then back it up next year!

Good post.

Has anyone noticed a trimmer, fitter Roo!!
On firdays news slot I was salivating. :D
He WILL;have a huge impact when he comes back.

I hope he plays on a half forward flank.
Why not:confused: ... lets not tinker with Bock Sarge and Welsh in particular unless Bock is carrying an injury.

I can see a thunder and lighting return coming up.
No doubt he would've learnt a lot in the box and NC will ease him back.:thumbsu:

That sums it up but he does have bad hair days too but they are fewer and far between these days.
