View Full Version : Votes v Freo

5. J Kelly - Would I be right in thinking first 30+ game?
4. M Egan - commentators hit it on the head; Pavilich is Freo, and if you beat him you beat them. Also was very impressed by his second efforts.
3. G Ablett - What a gun.
2. M Stokes - Hardness brings a tear to the eye and a rush of blood to the trouser.
1. J Bartel - still a legend.

5. J Kelly - best game I have seen him play in a while.
4. S Johnson - was the difference between the 2 sides, our most productive forward.
3. M Egan - as the jester said, he beat pavlich and if you beat pavlich you beat freo.
2. J Bartel - another quality game.
1. K Tenace - Racked up 28 possessions and played his best game yet for Geelong.

Apologies to Stokes, Gablett and Monica.

Just saw your mob flog the purples and was extremely impressed with your Selwood. Every time he got near it he won possession and his use was outstanding - and he is only a baby.

We are happy with our one but you are going to have wonderful service from yours. He is a beauty.

5. Kelly- Through the doubts, he's been really great.
4. Woja- Still speedy and great to have around.
3. Varcoe- Saved us from a particularly messy couple of ends up forward.
2. Gablett- Played pretty good all day. Espicially passing it around.
1. Bartel- Yay for Super Bartel! Even though mr S McManus made him eat Skilled Turf.

Honourable Mentions: God (he was watching at the Game, the camera focused on him a few times), Half-Cat (for being really smexy:p ) and Otto, for turning into Biiiiiirdman.

Big ups to Max, he was in my votes to half time. And Josh Hunt as well, who took his chance by the throat today.

I would have to say Joel's gonna be the best Selwood. He's gonna be a dominating midfielder and probably brownlow medalist, where Adam is a solid defender.

I think you're overrating Joel just a tad in saying he will be a Brownlow medalist

Hope so.

Or will it be a case of "there's a younger brother, and they say he's the best of the lot."

*whistles softly*

The commentators applauded him for it, but I felt watching it that Egan or Bartel would have taken the mark...not that I can talk on that score. Thought Josh was alright, but he just still seems to have this I'M SO TOUGH attitude to his footy.

5 - Kelly. Put in all day. Pretty sure that Freo tried to tag him after half time, but that didn't help. Was open and linked all game, looked composed and even really pushed hard. Good disposal too, not all that bad.

4 - SJ. Four goals, presented well all day. Gave some great tackles and I think had either 2 or 3 goal assists. Good game.

3 - Bartel. Tagged heavily, but still remained in and under taking the ball out of the packs or at least tackling constantly so it wouldn't come out.

2 - Ling. Tagged Bell out of the first half. Totally dominated him. Only when Ling was shifted in the last did Bell finally break loose. Another scalp on the Ling wall.

1 - Team effort. It is hard to put up someone here, Scarlett, Wojak, Hunt, Stokes, Jnr, DJ, Varcoe were all good. Too hard to separate one of them. Each tried hard and tackled their best and put on so much pressure. Great all-round team effort.

It's fantastic to see the team playing with passion and doing a lot of the "the one percenters'', all the same, we still need a coach who can take us the step further, not just to finals, but to a PREMIERSHIP, not another great, solid effort with prospects for the future. I want a PREMIERSHIP, not a bloody promise of one in the years to come. Remember, this the eighth year of a five year plan when Bartel, Ling, Scarlett, Johnson, Chapman etc, etc were the players to take us one step further. I WANT A PREMIERSHIP, not just a promise of one.... Come on Cats, do it...please.

not just to finals, but to a PREMIERSHIP...
And when they do, you'll have to get the mods to alter your username to "beautifulpussies". It must've been difficult deciding over dogsahack, lingsfugly, ihategeelong, etc.

He should be able to. He's young enough and played the minimum number of games...

4. S. Johnson - Three weeks in a row! Can I smell a little consistency?
