It's great to see the team playing well, with passion and heart, but we still need to do it when it counts, not in May, but in September. I reckon our coach has taken this list as far as he can. In the last quarter with SJ playing in the backline at the start of the last quarter Freo looked dangerous. Luckily the team is "ON'' at the moment, but it only takes a small drop in application for opposition teams to run over us. Having said that, we need more discipline and a coach that instills that in our blokes. Maybe that means Bomber has to also take the next step in his career, but maybe that means we need a stronger character at the helm. I'm sick of excuses, WE NEED A PREMIERSHIP, not just a good solid season with greater things to come, or five year plans, or rebuilding for the future, or Roads to a premiership. I've been a member for over 30 years, I'm running out of patience. Come on Cats, now is the time....Seize the Day.....Please, please, I don't want to be choking on my porridge in Grace McKellar hearing of another wasted season in a few years time, with all the promises and cliches....Come on you blokes, dig deep, on our day we can do it, just make it bloody sooner than later......................
P.S. Don't read about yourselves in the Geelong Advertiser.

Your name speaks volumes about your attitude towards the club. Good supporters should never run out of patience.
To win a premiership, we need to play good all year, May & September...

What is with the people on these forums.
Look, what happens in the past is the past. That cannot alter the way the team is now or in the future. Having a negative attitude is a detriment to not only the club, but you as well.
Why be negative all the time ??
Give up the history, who really cares. Just support YOUR club and give them the best possible support you can. Negativity only breeds more negativity, stay positive and anything can and will happen.
If we continue to live in the past, we will never win a premiership, we will always live up to the handbag past, why don't we take on a positive approach and say sure we may have handbags, but they are full of lead to whack you on the head.
Stay positive bro, anything can happen.

listen to all of u....all trying to show how "passionate" and how "good supporters" u are. well sometimes people just get sick of seeing the same pattern time and time again.
personaly what im sick of is the boys consistantly letting teams back into the contest, yesterday for example, if it wasnt for a VERY dodgy free to johno, freo would have been within 20 points, 13 mins to play.
but that being said, i spose if u do all the hard work at the begining of the match and build the lead, u can afford to let off a touch, aslong as u have the petrol in the tank to kick back into gear!

You expect them to dominate every quarter of every game? Not gonna happen.
Trust me, it's a good thing that teams come back at us...

Certainly is a good thing that teams are coming back at us. Its good for the boys to learn how to fend off late surges by oppositions, only way to learn is through experience.

thompson knows ,we know ,everyone knows he is on borrowed time untill a suitable replacement can be found , you only need too watch his press confrences live too understand were he is at .............lucky for him that the guys are playing good hard footy at the minute , the true acid is the next month of footy with some trips too aami stadium sure too test his and geelongs resolve !!!!
the wins at home the last two weeks may fool some , but there are still issues there ....... on and off the field .....

no not domintate, but not totally open the door which like i said, would have happened if it wasnt for the sh1thouse freekick to SJ, and freo having a truckload of momentum....

Ahh, but who knows where the ball would have ended up if the free wasnt paid?
It was in our fifty........could have jagged one anyway. Plus at least the team fought to get the ball down there against the run of play. And SJ converted. So lets enjoy the luck of the footy gods, for once (imagine if there were another 60sec on the clock in the 89 GF???) and tuck another win away......nice work. Next week it will probably go against us!! Maybe SJ should buy a powerball ticket........

Who's to say Geelong let Freo back in?
Can't it be Freo playing better football?

And that they did - Bell got loose and cut us up.
I would imagine if haselby was actually playing it could have got even closer. But again, good mental strength to hold off another late challenge.
Maybe the better sides are just taking three quarters or so to work out how we are playing now?? cant count the bitchmond game because they are just SHITE........

well when a team starts goin full on defensive, 8 minutes into the last, i dare say thats a massive clue??? also if freo started playing better football and caught up that much....cant be good for the form of geelong, team plays 1 quarter and chops the margin back as much as 23 points in 14 minutes....
Haha anyone who thinks bomber should be sacked from the last 3 weeks is a joke.

I think Bomber will be leaving at the end of the year if he doesnt win a premiership
he has done well for the club no dioubt about it, but i think he would feel too much pressure ot stay and i thin kthe club needs fresh ideas

Well where to start with replying to you!!!! First i think that you should settle down with the playing the same as they are in September it's still only May and the "TEAM" will only be thinking of playing next weekend against Port Adelaide, let alone how they will play in September. And I'am sick to death of all you negative people who say that you are loyal Geelong Cat supporters, thats bull shit and most of you know it. Support the boys instead of bagging them every chance you get and as for Mark "bomber" Thompson, I think him, me and everyone else is really sick of hearing how shit a coach he is and what the club needs next year and how they should go about it. EVERYONE knows that Bomber is probabley on his last chance there STOP bringing it up everytime you post something. Just support the team on how they are now and how well they are all working together (including Bomber) All you negative "cats supporters" get your heads out of your arses and see how well the boys are going now, worry bout September when it's September.

Who was going defensive? All I saw was Freo start to use the ball better and they kicked a few goals in a row because of it. I didn't notice any massive drop in intensity or change of gameplan.... I think it's a credit to us that that was the only run they made for the whole game. Plus the fact that, just like the Eagles, they came at us and we managed to handle it without any huge fuss impresses me a heap...

What if we get to the GF and lose by a point in a spirited match? Why would you want another coach under those circumstances? Same with a Prelim final.
Why would a new coach be better in the event of a high amount of success this year?
PS. FWIW, I think this is a stupid thread too.

To all you Bomber lovers I say this to you.DO not set too low a standard for yourselves. This list is a top 4 list,we are currently were we should be and should've been last year. Those who say that if we make Prelims would be a good result I say rubbish!! I want a premiership and if after 8 years he can't get us one then move on.

the problem with the cats is they got too many big heads at the club. bomber has done a great job pulling them through year after year. i find a number of cats players get ahead of themselves too soon thinking they are tv stars and dont keep a lid on it. they definately have a shot at the premiership if he can keep them in check.
