5 guys from st micks and 2 from henley, therefore 7 from cudmore tce :thumbsu:
So you'd think the certainties would be: Jesson, Holmes, Wright, Thompson, Christie, Wundke, Greenwood, Ebert, Mcnamara, Jaensch, Wark, Hartlett, Davoren, Petrenko, Fairclough and Broadbent ...

Could anyone in the know tell me how close Brett Hughes was to a spot?
probably not that close as hes just been average to good in the 19s and there are plenty of other key posis ahead of him

Could anyone PLEASE tell me how Sam Sverdloff and Tyson Slattery made that state squad ahead of Zac Millar and Toby Schultz; 2 players that made the side last year and are pretty damn talented players in most ppls opinions...wtf is brenton phillips thinking?! ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!

Seems like a very small team, 8 players under 180cm and only Sverdloff at 196 and Walsh at 197 with any real height. No giants (pushing 200cm) in the team and blokes under 180cm aren't often drafted (only 5 under 180 were drafted last year).
You would think they will get killed in the ruck against the vic teams against Kruzer and McEvoy. Have either of the big guys got massive leaps?

From what I have seen of Walsh he is very agile and does have a good leap. Pretty good at ground level and is noted to be very courageous.

If u saw the lead up games to the carnival u would know why he made that team as full forward ahead of michael wundke. I did watch that game and i know he only got 2 or 3 touches, but in fairness vic metro dominated the midfield and flooded. If u recall Sellar hardly got a kick in that forward line either that game until he moved to the wing in the third quarter and started taking useless marks in the back half. Whatever u reckon he is better than Slattery.
Millar is also much more skillful and stronger than half that side and has the poise and agility teams need in players....should be wakling into that team let alone squad....
Also a bit of a surprise Boyd didnt make the squad being in the side last year, but sort of understandable with his lack of height and accountability

what are the level players have been playing at in SA. you'd think that the lack of height may be accounted for as many would have played at reserves level and have experience against larger bodies.

What are the Central Districts and the Redlegs doing with there football development? Only having one player from both sides make the squad and yet they may not make the team!!!! Something sure is not right with the Junior programes down at those to clubs, dave ottey i think its time for you to move ON!!!! since you hav been running the programe they have gone down hill!

Jees the AFL recruiters's hearts must sink when they look at the heights of this squad. Why has Phillips gone SO short?

norwood run a mickey mouse junior development (u/13 to u/15) which then flows over to u/17 & u/19
eg squads of 50 players for their u/15 metro team where 20 of them cant kick 35 metres & then they all play half a game
North Adelaide cut back to 28 & really develop players and thats why they have 6 players in the u/18 squad
