i forgot how funny this british series was until i popped it in the dvd today,it is some of ronnie barkers funniest stuff

i love the look on arkwrights
face when granvilles has his head between nurse gladys emmanuels chest and says:dont drown those puppies ill have wer- wer- one

another one of the great british comedy from the 70s,early 80s

Love Ronnie Barker as a character actor, one of the very best. Could never split Open All Hours and Porridge, both have plenty of laughs in them. Even an obscure series of his called The Magnificent Evans was better than a lot of the stuff that passes as comedy today.

It was the little things I used to love about this show..

Like when he would iron the newspaper he just read so he could sell it... doesn't sound funny but I remember laughing for hours about that.

A classic, I loved it more than porridge, which I felt was a bit repetitive & bored me a bit at times.
