New MANOWAR single out today - I don't suppose anyone has bought it?
I downloaded it on Saturday, and was quite happy with it - actually quite happy to hear any new stuff from them after waiting 5 years and 7 months!
The songs chugs along quite nicely, in the same vein as Spirit Horse Of The Cherokee off 1992's Triumph of Steel album. No guitar solo though, which is probably the biggest disappointment.
Looking forward to the new album being released on May 27. :)
PS - everyone in Melbourne, come along and see Arkaya (formerly known as Kymera) with Sanity's Cage at the Barley Corn in Collingwood this Friday night, and THE BIG ONE..... Pegazus launching their new album The Headless Horseman at Richmond's Central Club on Saturday night.

As promised to a few people, a quick rundown of the Arkaya gig night...
First band on was Sanityz Cage (note the bizarre spelling), who play some very good originals, with a couple of covers late in their set (performed as a medley).
A fair bit of Iron maiden type twin guitar sound, but a bit heavier. The lead guitarist had some sound problems at one stage, and generally his side of things wasn't up loud enough, and was drowned out a little by the bass and the rhythm guitar. Pity really, because the guy can really play... fretboard acrobatics as good as in any band I've seen live in a while. Highlights were the Iron Maiden cover The Trooper and their signature tune original Metal Rage.
Next band on was Eyefear, featuring Danny Cecati (ex-Pegazus) on vocals. Very Dream Theater or Vanishing Point type of sound, and a bit too much keyboard for my liking, but they can all play their instruments, and Danny's voice is still amazing.
Arkaya, formerly known as Kymera were the main act for the night. Bit of an ex-Pegazus feel with the bass player being Corey Betts (formerly of Pegazus), rhythm guitarist being Hanny (ex-Catwitch, now playing bass in Pegazus as Corey's replacement!), and Danny Cecati coming on for the now-customary guest spot at the end for the song Guardian.
Highlight of this band is definitely the guitar work of Steve, the lead guitarist - sensational player.
I don't know how much these bands are trying to sell themselves domestically or overseas, but certainly Arkaya have the right stuff to be very big in metal circles. Mostly classic metal, with a bit of prog creeping in... all very talented players, great singer (guy who looks like Ang Christou, no idea about his name), strong tracks, and the drummer is an absolute psycho when playing. Haven't seen a drummer like that in a long long time. Very original band, and I hope they crack it big at some stage, they certainly have the goods IMHO.
The Pegazus album launch tonight will be fantastic.... bought the new CD yesterday and it's a very strong, consistent album with a couple of absolute gem tracks.

Nice review Darko..the arkaya singer's name is Gio..and he is also appears on a duet on the latest Vanishing Point album..duet ..so un metal sounding..co-sing might be a better description..
also hear that they may not have settled on the Arkaya name..but i could be wrong on that one? Should be some developments soon.
I heard the Pegazus gig was very good and an awesome turn out for the album launch. Good stuff.
