If he was any good he would have got the gig at the Bombers. He goes over to Freo and look at the results?
He is a dud coach, and Freo if they do sack Connolly for him will become so bad they will be nearing Richmond as the laughing stocks of the AFL.
Why do you think Essendon persist with the old clown? Because Harvey was a dud and they knew it, and there isn't much in the marketplace anymore.
If these clubs had any brains it would go like this.
Wallet out
Connolly out
Sheedy out
as for the ins, well I don't do the interviews but Harvey would be second last on my list behind, Royal.

On Harvs' ability, i suppose you have a mole in the freo club who provides you with insight into the coaches various styles, abilitites etc. You idiot, why don't you talk about something you know about instead of speculating someone's ability or lack of? I would focus on my own team first before canning other clubs.

I do all the time. Like the 20+ threads I wrote that Clarkson was a genius when everyone was laughing at him. Or the 20+ threads I wrote that Wallace was a tool when everyone thought he was a hero. Or the thread on the main board before the season that the Kangaroos will make the 8.
Add this to the list. Whoever takes Harvey will sack him in 12 months and waste a season.

By the way, Sheeds is a cunning old bugger, and I wouldnt put it past him outlasting clarkson.

Because the Bombers had a detailed review and they were desperate for a change in regime.
They knew that the great man was getting a little tired but did not trust Harvey after years as Sheedys 2IC.
Harvey then spoke to them before he left, and they still made him no promises.
No I don't know what happens in the inner-sanctum but it doesn't take a genius to know that the Bombers had no faith in him.
On top of that how many Freo players have been reported this year? The so called Harvey 'hardness' I think they were calling it last year when they were winning.
And where is Harvey now to support Cuddles? Hiding from the media... Last year when they were winning he was interviewed every other week.
People with no integrity ala Wallace, and now by the look of it Harvey never make it. The players can smell it and the results on the field mirror the character of their coach.
Just like the Hawks, the quiet achievers... And our quiet achieving coach.

The gig was never available at Essendon, and hasn't been for a long long time. Let's be honest, Sheedy has done a great job, and his job isn't even close to being threatened...
So harvey had no chance whatsoever getting the main gig unless SHeeds retired.
HE came to Freo, and they made the top 4 for the first time ever, and won a final for the first time ever.
Now they suck again.... not sure but perhaps Harvey had an influence on freo last year?
I don't know for sure, but i think it's unfair to write him off on your above evidence

AND it was at Rick Harts place last year when things were not going right for Fremantle and the players etc had a bit#h session there and Harvey put forward many of his ideas that were taken on board and Fremantle IMPROVED ,that was not all Connollys doing ,they can thank Harvey and some players for agreeing with Harvey which set the wheels in motion for fremantles improvement .Its not Harveys fault Fremantle have a slow midfield etc , or the players are irresponsible and get booked .
Ok if Sheeds didnt coach next year who would coach the Bombers ?

I cant see any reason why he wont get a chance as a Senior Coach sometime somewhere but I just dont believe he's shoe in to replace Connolly when he gets the flick.

i/ve got a good idea why dont you pop down to freo clubrooms knock on harves door & tell him to his face. i can tell from your thread that you are a man of courage & honesty .i/m sure harves will be able to see that & invite you in for a cup of tea instead of crushing you like the **ssweak insect that you really are oh & i/m sure terry will feel the same way as well.

So you being the AFL guru, I can't see why clubs don't hire you for your opinion. In reality , you jagged it you bloody dipstick. You are so far up yourself that you can smell fish.

Christ knows I'd be calling for his blood if I was a Fremantle supporter...or I could vigorously defend him if I was a delusional one. :cool:
I'll admit, the problem not only lies with Harvey but with your club in general - you just don't have enough good players to warrant all the hype. Pavlich is your ONLY top liner and without him, no-one would even rate your club. Lets face it - who else is there?
It's kinda like St Kilda too. All unwarranted hype with nothing whatsoever to justify it.
H2F is right. There has been nothing from Harvey to suggest he can coach. He made a moderately impressive start, but that's mainly due to players trying to impress him and secure a senior position. Apart from that, himself and Fremantle haven't shown anything worthy of optimism. Enjoy another season in the doldrums.
