We have copped a fair bit on here about Saturday nights game, but the baggings will only get worse as the Hawks get better and better.

People will be jealous of the Hawks continuing success and will try to cut us down.

Stand Proud Hawkers !!!

Winning form is good form !!!

Bring on the Nut Punching Eagles !!!

Too right matey. Sam is breathing a sigh of relief. Let them bag us as much as they please and we will keep winning. GO HAWKS!

too right with Geelong, Doggies, Saints and even Collingwood in the finals theres a fair chance they will continue their unsuccessful history.

When the hawks legitimately get there - top 4 - watch out.

A good finals club.
like 2001 - started out the 'worst team to make the finals, ever' and nearly got a shot at the big one

Absolutely, given that most of the supporters on BF barrack for vic teams with no future, they try to bring us down to their level, even though we are 5-3, and have beaten Stk for the first time in 5 years.

You know you're doing something right when you're getting bagged from everwhere but are still winning games. Good luck this weekend.

Don't forget that Hunter is still in the team.
He punched Williams twice, and got away with it.

As much as we'd all like to sit back and watch free-flowing high scoring shoot-outs, the fact is a team needs to do more than that to win a flag.

Fans from teams such as Bulldogs, Geelong, Kangaroos, etc are sitting back, looking down their noses at us and saying "but we are playing attractive footy, you guys win ugly".

Have these people been watching the past few years? There is no such thing as "pretty" premierships. Sydney and West Coast play a style of game that transcends anything teams like the Bulldogs can offer. They get physical, down and dirty.

I told a Power fan last week they wouldn't beat Sydney because they love to push their running players forward into spaces and kick easy goals. I told him Sydney wouldn't allow them to do that, and neither would the Eagles or Adelaide. He laughed at me. He's not laughing now.

There's no place in finals for teams not prepared to win ugly. That's not to say we can't have some games which are free-flowing, but we won't get too many finals where we can win that way.

As ugly as I found the game on Saturday night, and as annoyed as I was by basic skill errors, I was very pleased with the way the guys stuck to the cause and won in the end. It will hold us in very good stead for the finals in the next year or so ... even this season if we continue to improve.

As for what other clubs' supporters and the media thinks of us .. who cares? Hawthorn isn't in this business to please the media and other supporters. We are here for the HAWTHORN FOOTBALL CLUB, and that's ALL that matters!!!

I think the attention is fantastic. A load of frog s**t but fantastic!
Hopefully it fires the boys up on the weekend. If people were not at the game on the weekend, then they really have no business having an opinion on went on at the "G" on Saturday night. There is no way in hell you can see what is going on around the ground on the TV. Those people that were not there are obviously listening to the media dribble and taking it as gospel.
I was at the game and what I saw was a team with a forward line capable of doing alot of damage on the scoreboard but for some reason or another, chose to play to the less experienced side's advantage. Hawthorn found a way to win, whether it was ugly or not we got the four points. We ran all over the top of Stkilda in the last because we wanted it more. Plain and Simple. If Stkilda keep playing this negative brand of football, they will be losing alot more games in the same fashion this year.
