just saw on baggygreen that new zealand opener lou vincent is linked to south australia and might end up being signed up....
big win for sa if they get him
any thought
I think if more Kiwis played in the Australian domestic comp rather than theirs they would be better players.
Personally I would love to have the Kiwi teams in our one day comp, and run it like the county scene. Have two divisions etc. I dont think having them in the 4 day comp would make our players any better.
Ha ha ha, how rubbish are South Australia taking a useless pile of crap like Vincent.

I think Vincent would be good for them. Also heard Darren Lehmann has got DVT, hope he is alright.

That is a pretty shocking comment mate, Vincent is a very fine player and he was great on our pitches in the recent summer. Obviously you have no idea.
A very fine player? Turn it up. A FC average in the 30s, a List A average in the 20s. He's crap.
As for having no idea, I've been following cricket for longer than you've been alive. Get back to me when you've got someting constructive to add.

I think he'll be a good pick-up. He's still young, can make plenty of runs. International Experience will be helpful for some of the younger guys. He'll be good for South Aussie cricket.
Similar to Matty Elliott. Okay, Matty has isn't exactly set the world alight down here, but he's been very good for SA Cricket, Grade Cricket and his West Torrens Club.
Vincent will be a good pick-up for us.
Perhaps Lou wants to play in Aus so he can learn how to be an arrogant sledger

I'm not sure about this whole thing, on the radio they were suggesting that it isn't a goer, but then i've heard it is.
anyway - i'll wait to see - atleast he is only 28 normally we wait until they are well past 30 before getting them over
NZ did play in our one day competition some time ago.

Vincent and Hussey looks good on paper, and I guess they will be better than anything that comes out of our grade system :(
Played a fair bit in SA before his NZ career IIRC.
Put the sooking episode aside, he's actually a pretty good bloke. Met him once in the Hilton after they'd played an ODI game.

Depends how big a motivation the captaincy would be. He'll never get a gig in Vic with Cameron White there. Because he's so great.
Anyway, I don't think the rumour is true. Paul Nobes has said publicy that we'll look within for our captain which is a genuinely scary thought.

I think you guys will be better off without Vincent, In recent years a lot imports have totally failed as they are not committed to the cause of the state they are playing for and don’t realise that unlike county cricket which talented players cant bludge their way through a chunk of the season, Australia's domestic season is played tough.
On top of that he will probably be required for New Zealands international season too.
Vincent has had some good international form since his recall, but his commitment seems to be to NZ and I doubt he will be able to spare it.

I know that being from South Australia is a pretty major handicap, but...
