I've watched this via torrents and it has developed into quite a good show. The network has boned it for TV and it's only available by webcast.

It looks like it's been pulled after 13 episodes so there are heaps of unanswered questions. For instance, how did Joey come to be in jail and who the hell is he talking to?

The star of the series in my mind is not Tommy, it's his junkie brother Jimmy. You really don't know what to expect with the character only that it it be something extreme.

There must be an anti Irish thing going on in US TV. I don't think Brotherhood will return and now the demise of The Donnellys.

At least I've got the next season of Big Love to look forward to in a couple of weeks.

The biggest impediment to TBDs is that it was always going to be compared with The Sopranos. Prettty much every drama that involves organized crime, The Sopranos will always be mentioned by the viewer.

See Smith earlier this season on CBS.

So true. I've looked at http://www.metacritic.com/ and just about every crime series is compared to The Sopranos and rated accordingly.

According to the Smith reviews, it never stood a chance after EP2. The characters took a real slamming as did the similar episode plots. It sounds very similar to Hustle, the UK series. I might watch a few eps and make my mind up.

Brotherhood (also compared to Sopranos) is back for its second series later this year. This is a Showtime product, but try looking at their website outside the US. They must hold national secrets. http://www.sho.com/site/homepage/index.do

Showcase ran an ad for this after Dexter finished last night. First time I'd heard of this show, but it sounds pretty good. Cancelled after one season though, and from what I've read, not much chance of it coming back.
