I know that the Rising Star nomination isn't a 100 percent guarantee that every player is going to be a superstar, but in the 53 rounds of football played since the beginning of 2005, 9 Brisbane players have been nominated, meaning out of all the nominees for the Rising Star since that time, just under 1 in every 6 has been a Brisbane player.

Not bad at all.

Keep in mind that Hadley got a nomination in 2004 as well.

There is definately the basis of a strong team there. Like to see them all click at once.

I reckon Begley and Leuenberger are good chances to secure a nomination by the end of the year.

Proud may be a chance ,also Schmidt and who knows Tyler and Sheldon.

I think we are definately heading in the right direction. good crop of young players, last few weeks haven't been the best but I can still see positives in things will hopefully start to happen before this year is out, and some things that have already started.

Begley has been sensational.. I reckon he was stiff to get dropped

His passing into the 50 has been a revelation.

Berger is a likely nominee. He has all the attributes and is doing very well in AFLQ, though it is a level up, he would fit right into our senior side, IMO.

I think Proud will be a very likely one, too, he just seems to be the type that'll get alot of the ball (like Petterd) in his first season. Not to mention, he can kick goals.

Begley has to do something very good (get 18+ possies) to earn a nomination, the selectors don't think the average of 11 or so disposals is good enough, even if he uses them greatly. :cool:
