and how much crap will he get, now as a dog fan in brisbane this is the one game i look forward to each year, and now that we have aker i cant wait.

but why is there so much hate for this man, alot of which is from what ppl see in the media and who would not know him as a person. now i have been talking to alot of lion fans this year about aker and many have called him all sorts of crap, with out knowing the bloke.

he was a great player for you guys winning a brownlow and being a member of your 3 premirship every one was happy with him or looked the other way, he is abit like nathan brown in a way, now many dog fans still hate brown, but for what? ok he left our club for more $ and i may not agree with that but his time at the dogs was good he was a great player, and i hope he can get back on the park for the tigers because he is one of the games great players.

anyway i just wanted to say all the best it should be a good game and brown vs harris is looking like a good match up and cant wait to see your young cubs in rischitelle sherman stiller patfull and harding ect

GO DOGS AND HOPE TO SEE A AKER HAND STAND:D :D ;)

Do you think he is still one of the game's great players? There's plenty of other Bulldogs that I'm more worried about to be honest.

if you want to know what Brisbane supporters think simply do a search on this board and you will get your answers, we are tired of discussing it but thanks for your interest and heres cheers to a big game. Meanwhile we are thinking about Richmond this Saturday.

Thanks

Chris Schmidt has had a better year.

I personally dont hold any grudge about Aker. He was a great player and I hope he continues to do well at the bulldogs. To see Aker, Voss, Black, and Brown play during the premiership years was a sight to behold. Even though Acker has moved on, I still hope to see him play well. I just hope he can manage to fit in with all the players there and not end up in a mud slinging competition. History has shown that he will be ok for a year or two then something on a personal level will crop up. I hope for the bulldogs sake it doesnt, but I would not be suprised if it did.

Would have struggled to break into our best 22 on form this year.

The loud cheers he used to get when he had the ball have seemed to just naturally flow to Brown instead.

Will now become loud Boo's

If he does a hand stand at the gabba, omg i will get so pissed off, i will buy a plane ticket up there and take him out myself, while mid handstand.

I dunno just will really annoy me.

anyway, we have to beat the tigers before hand!!!

GO DOGS AND HOPE TO SEE A AKER HAND STAND:D :D ;) The Gabba ain't Aker's home anymore so he will not do a 'handstand'. And what the hell does Nathan brown have to do with aker? Aker wanted to go 'home' and that is apparently where he is!

Would love to see what would happen if he went to the wrong change room by habbit. Just imagine the players walk in and saw Aker putting his My Little Pony bag into James Hawksley's locker.:D

the lion supporters i have spoken to about aker i would say 90% has been negitave, and from what they have said. it's what they have heard and seen in the media, and not based on him as a person or player. the other 10% have wished him and the dogs well.
just like nathan brown, with dog fan and the way he left us they are still negitave in the way they talk about him. as i would say the roos fans would be about carey.
for me browns time at the dogs was good he did what he thought was right at the time, i didnt agree, but i have always wished him and the tigers all the best.

to Grimreepah yes i think brown is still a great player and i hope he can get back playing some good footy,i want to see all the best players playing the game and thats why i go to the footy. it was only a few years ago that hird was out for a long time with his foot problems and every1 was wrighting him off saying he was past it, but he came back to play sum good footy. brown will do the same if he becomes fit.

When Aker helped the Lions I loved him, when he hurt the Lions I hated him. If Aker had left quietly I still would have been fairly peeved, but the memories probably wouldn't have been tarnished. As it is I see him very differently now.

Some Bulldogs supporters will probably try and rub it in that he's playing for them and not us, but I am just glad it is all over. You guys have taken a chance on him and we'll see how that turns out.

Sorry I misread your post, I thought you were talking about Aker. Regardless, it has been a while since either played their best footy, so I think expectations have to be adjusted accordingly. Not everyone is James Hird.

He didn't save it just for the Gabba.

I would hope that Lions supporters can show a little bit of class by NOT booing Aker when we play bulldogs, if they do it will put us in the same mould as Tiger and collingwoods feral fans...I know opinions are divided on this issue, but i just feel he has done far more for our club over the years than what went on last year...surely we must respect him for that, and hope it is a good honest game, no physical thuggery (as alluded too by Browny on TFS) and the Lions win! I will be so disappointed if he is booed....just my opinion

He'll be booed. May as well get used to the idea now.

I agree with you MacMum in that I would be happy to see him 'not booed' but not for the same reasons. Simply because he bloody loves it, thrives on being under pressure and steps up when the spotlight is on him, good or bad attention makes him a better player (so agree with TBD that it will happen anyway, despite what anyone says). Of course, The Simpsons as usual can explain this better than I can...

I'm glad they are doing that "Mission Maroon" thing where they will be giving out maroon shirts.

The idea is that the Gabba will be a sea of maroon.

The real benefit is that it will take the attention away from the moronic Aker backers and their equally moronic T-Shirts.

Intresting they have Aka name on lions.com.au header at the moment. The Maroon thing should be good, main colour of Queensland as well as the traditional colour of Fitzroy.

Would like to see us get the Tigers game played Saturday night though before advertising Aka's return.
