now that the great man has been dropped through lack of form (ability?) it paves the way for captain courageous, big ben, to put in another shocker and follow his mate into the magoos next week. ;)
there have been some entertaining clashes between our two mobs of pretenders over the years. my favorite was the one a few years ago when buddha cowardly took harvey out off the ball and in the last 1/4 kicking against a 4 goal wind and being 26 points down harvey inspired a magnificent comeback to have us singing and boozing in the car all the way back to melbourne. :D
after our poor showing against port and your good win last week your lot will go into the game as slight favorites but consistently winning is a problem with young teams. enright will be a loss he looks like he is going to be a good player as do bartels and ablett. for us xavier clarke looked impressive last week and hopefully a kid named dal santo will make his debut and display his fantastic skills. we have been waiting for reiwoldt to take control of a game which he is very capable of, this may very well be the week.
i think that despite the problems of the last few years that geelong are on the right track. cook is one of the best ceo's in the country and bomber thompson is developing into a very good coach. following a youth policy can be frustrating but it is the only way to have on field sucess in the future. all these factors suggest that things are on the improve in sleepy hollow.
good luck, the best team will win.
