Does anyone no why Nathan Jones has not been nomintated for the rising star so far this year. I am sure he is still eligible? Does anybody no?
I am sure his time will come if infact he is still eligible.
He is now my favorite player at melbourne, when he gets it he runs hard and kicks long. Not dinky kicks or kicking backwards for Jonesy. Other players please take note.

Yeah he was.
So whats that mean? he cant be nominated this year? or his already eligible?
I would have thought if he was eligible this year he would have to be nominated again. I was sure he was eligible because he only played 8 games and was under 21.

i thought he is eligble to be nominated and to win this year, reason why he hasn't been nominated is probably cause Petterd, Hawkins, Pendles, Higgins and so on have played ripping games. Jones has been more consistent but last week was probably his best game all year.

he'll get one eventually no doubt..who else from melbourne u reckon will get one this year?? possibly frawley or newton??

Frawley may struggle as the rising stars have been quite good so far. We all hope Newton but he hasn't been close to getting a game yet.

Isn't he eligible to win it this year, but not eligible to be nominated? ie - his nomination carries over from last year as he is still eligible under the age/games criteria.

Although not a huge fan of the award - he is eligible. I would of thought to win it he would still have to be nominated this year?

My understanding is:
You can be nominated in more than 1 season (IIRC it has happened before) providing you have played less than 10 games at the start of the 2nd season and still meet the age requirement.
If nominated in your 2nd year you are eligible to win the award. You must be nominated again to win, i.e. his nomination from last year does not make him eligible this year.
