To all the melbourne supporters who are staying away from the footy due to the fact we are 0-9, please continue to stay away because we dont need you.

We have 27,000 members and the crowds for our last 3 games at the G have been nothing short of terrible. No wonder melbourne supporters have such an image about them. To all of you that are reading this that it applies to, we dont need you and dont come crawling back next year when we are winning games again. Go the dees!!!

I doubt that many people on this board would bother spending time talking about the team if they didn't bother to go to the actual matches. Unfortunately, we DO need the bandwagon supporters to get on board if we are to keep our club financially afloat.

Why are we going to go to matches when we keep bloody losing, when the bloody players decide that they want to play i will start going.

Technically, we do need the fairweather supporters. I mean, we can't keep losing money because our crowds are 15,000 short of what you need to break even for a home game.

Maybe you should learn to love football even when your team isn't successful.

Yeah have to admit we were there not that long ago....and a year is a long time in football (unless your Carlton). The reason I say you jest though, is because 2008 will be the year Hawthorn go back to back!!!

If you take that attitude then the players probably won't think that there is much to play for - soft supporters = weak club.

Collingwood is a strong club because their supporters are passionate - seriously, come win or lose, they support their club.

I doubt Melbourne will be around in ten years time unless supporters really back the side - it is all well to complain but if you aint at the game because you are chicken of a loss, then go watch netball.

Seriously, I don't know why some people bother supporting a team if they crack the sooks as soon as things go a little bad. Good times come with the bad times - there will only be one winner every year, the rest will be disappointed... some years will be good, others bad.

But to crack the shits and bag the club out or dismiss them in a bad year is just weak... no wonder the club is going to the bottom.

A club is only as strong as its membership and fan base. If the crowds are small then the players won't be excited into playing... afterall, they can go to another club easy enough... if the supporters won't support then why should the players bother trying. They still get paid.

we just had 3 relatively good years in a row; '04, '05, '06. I know i felt sure that the pattern was gone.

People who don't turn up to games because we're losing, have no right to complain about the side being weak, as they themselves are weak.

Harden the **** up and come to the MCG and watch the boys play.
There are plenty of young guns to keep you intersted.

The last thing ay of us want is for this club to bottom up and with our history who knows what's going to happen so i make sure i get to every game in Melbourne i possibly can and i couldn;t forgive myself if i missed the games we actually win this year.

Don't worry all the scabs will be back for Queens Birthday. The only problem is that half of them don't come to the rest of the games even if we are winning.

I spoke to a girl today who decided she was boycotting games til we won, i suggested if all our supporters were like that we would never win

I will be there again (til the end of the game as well, never left a game early) in my usual seat. I really hope as many people turn up to the game as possible, fairweather or diehard because we really need the cash. Perhaps with a bigger on-sided crowd we might finally get some crowd pleaser umpiring decisions, though I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

I'd say 2005 was an aberration. They lost 7 on the trot then won games by 1,4 and 10 points and squeaked into the eight with an embarassing percentage of 95.8 then were pantsed by Geelong in the Elimination. If they dropped those two close ones woulda finished around 12th.

What if we'd dropped close ones last year? We would have been 0-6 to start with, and god knows what would have happened then.

This will be my 6th game so far this year today. I go and support the boys whenever I can. I still love to watch us play when we are playing good footy like agianst Roos last quarter, as much as I can't stand it when we are playing crap.

Anyway I wouldn't miss Brock's 50th for the world.

To true,i do attend all Melbourne games even the odd one interstate,Melbourne supporters are a funny lot, they fall off in droves when we are losing & won't attend games at Telstra Dome & then Optus Oval because they don't like the grounds or whatever the case maybe, who cares where your team plays it plays,go support them unfortunately there is to many who think they are to precious!
