Tim Clinic from barwon heads played 12 games 06/07 & was suspended 3 times. Great chf who loves the physical contact but was targeted a lot by umpires, this being reason behind him leaving & playing back in melb. Some umpires & tribunal a joke.

Glenn Murphy had a chair with his name on it at the tribunal during his career.
Even punched his own runner during a game at St. Leonards.

mathew mcnamara was rubbed out a fair bit for silly stuff but all the umpiers had a grudge against him, prob one of the best full backs gdfl have had but he was a corio player so umpiers didnt like him and any chance they got they would rub him out, he missed grand finals and would of been the difference in a couple of them. :thumbsu:

Anybody in local footy over the age of 40 will remember a man named jimmy daglas from east geelong. pretty sure jimmy was on a first name basis with the tribunal. I remember him getting 16-18 weeks once for belting mccance from modda in the pre send off days. got reported 3 times in that game for hitting him.

apparently it was one of the best hits you'd ever see.
Talking of tough boys, what about Alan Woodman.Surely he would be up there.
Witnessed a few grand finals alone worth more than a seasons worth of suspensions.

Heard Woodman was given a smaller sentence after a GF as they were led to believe he was going to retire. Played for another 10+ years. Classic. :D:D

Thats the game. I think it was easier to name the players he didn't whack that day. Still a :thumbsu:massive effort to come from 10 goals down and I doubt any one but Woodman could have engineered that feat.

yeah great effort. I Think one thomson bloke that copped it the worse was Shane Grapsas who wore about a dozen upercuts in the goal square and was lights out

Yeh was unbelievable.. they all copped it.. All that aside he was an out and out gun without the thuggery. Enormous presence on the ground, would have to be up there with the finest country footballers ever, not to mention he did also play 69 VFL games.
Agree with Mark Cowan, was a nutter, used to have motor oil on his corn flakes and would've been 6'2 and 110 kgs. Never really lost it though which is a credit to him!
I remember a final back in 97-98 when he got sent off and was livid, noone in the crowd said a word when he trudged the boundary back to Thomson's coaches box which is testament to his unpredictability. Anyone else would've been unmercilessly sprayed by the supporters with a few under their belt.

Ahhh I always wondered why he did that..... As it seemed like a Barry Hall brain fade! Damian Thom was the bloke he belted, dunno if he broke his jaw but he certainly hit him hard.. Though I dont see how or why Thommy wouldve wanted to or been able to call him that, as he was running at full pace in the opposite direction..... I thought he just flipped out!

Allan Rundle, from East Geelong back in the day. Heard he was abit of a rough character... Only a little fella but played in a few losing GF's then got rubbed out the one East actually won. Apparently he belted a bloke the week before whilst on the bottom of the pack... Anyone know anything about him??

Yeah Brett Nolan has had a few over the years.I actually could hear one game when the ball was in flight the corio players around yelling out no nobby no nobby so he wouldnt whack the bloke going the ball.great player just needs anger management.
