It's safe to say that Hall won't be winning the Coleman medal this year.... :( .. And the way things are going he'll be fighting all the other swannies to be the leading goal kicker. lol..

It seems the players have taken Roosy's words to the letter. It's been a while since we've actually won 2 games in a row, convincing might i add w/o having Hall at the top of the scorers board... Talk about sacrificing a game for the betterment of the team....lol..

It's resorted to him taking out 2/3 defenders out of the game while everyone else around him enjoys the spoils.. And this is against 2 teams who were coming off convincing wins prior to playing the Swans.

ummm... it feels like de ja vu..

:D

I feel very sorry for Hall, i don't think anyone in the AFL is double/triple teamed, more often than Hall is, and he basically has to sacrifice his goal tally to help the other players kick a winning score. I'd love to see Big Barry kick 8-10 goals in a game this year, because he deserves it.

I think Hall has been a great leader these last few rounds. And I love to see him clearing the decks and helping us to create the one-on-ones for MOL. In particular I've been impressed with how many more balls have been falling for our smaller crumbing players like Schneids. It's something we've never really done a lot of in recent years.

But it's nice to know that when he gets room he can go back and kick a bag for us too. Wouldn't want to see him stop doing that altogether.

even the lure of winning a coleman on the last game of the year didnt influence him to be "selfish"....

THE COMPLETE TEAM PLEYER......

no doubt we've all read :

"Now, if teams are flooding back, I will often get up the ground trying to get the ball on the wing. If I've got two players back on me, I can open up the forward line by moving out and creating more room for someone such as Michael O'Loughlin. As a team, we're better off having four blokes kick 30-odd per-year because just having one target is too easy to shut down."

That quote of his really stuck out for me, too. Especially the bit I highlighted. I'll take 10 goal kickers every week over a one-man plan any day. And it's great to see Barry gets excited about helping others out with their games rather than sooking about the tagging. I mentioned it in other threads that his leadership around the ground has been great the last few weeks, despite what some armchair critics might think has been a low goal-scoring return. :thumbsu:

Hey guys, I know how much of a team player that Hally is and his effort in '05 in which he sacrificed the Coleman medal was awesome... I only put this thread up as a light hearted dig at how awesome of a situation that the Swannies are in.

I find it quite coincidental that it followed after i wrote this...lol...

They were just awesome last week and very fericious with there game. The poor Doggies didn't know what hit them.

Swannies by 30 tomorrow night. :thumbsu: :D

Thanks for that link.

I went a bit teary here. The past two games, Hall has been in everything. He's helping the team create opportunities and I really enjoy his contribution. I'm also glad that we don't have to rely on Hall every single week to kick a bag goals for us. And he showed us exactly that last sunday. It proves this so called 'no hall= no sydney' wrong.

I think he should be named in the side as GA "Goal Attack"... as a protest for being singled out for harsh over umpiring should wear a pleated netball skirt, and a long blonde wig
