I've seen him play a few times for Caulfield and he has a very good chance of being picked up. Clubs often like the utility type players who can fill a number of rolls. Oakleigh have also been very good by him allowing him to play on-ball, not just sticking him in a KP where he won't play at afl level. Doesn't have a massive reputation as he hasn't played metro or anything which will stop in going high, although he should be a late 2nd round, if not, maybe third round pick.

Oakleigh has been pumping him for a while. As you suggest being a utility could help him come rookie-draft. I think he ticks many of the boxes he just needs to play some good seriously good games. Claim some scalps in defence, turn a game in midfield, kick a bag. At the moment he is just one of the crowd in a fairly poor Oakleigh team and very much 2nd-fiddle to Otten who is similar.

Have seen him twice this year for Oakeigh, and I commented at the time that he appeared to be just going through the motions out on the ground. Has class written all over him, but needs to step it up a bit.

However, during the trial a couple of weeks back, he looked pretty sharp and really rose to the ocassion. Perhaps he just needed another step up in class for him to perform.

Sorry Weaver, gonna have to disagree with you again here. On paper Oakleigh have a side as talented as anyones (maybe slightly behind Calder's) but with a hell of a lot of players missing through school footy and injuries, their depth is being severely tested. But once they get these players back, they're a genuine shot at the flag IMO. IIRC last year they were undefeated when they had a full side to pick from.

Northern Knights have the most talented list by far. Calder are in second, and there's probably a handfull of others that are better than Oakleigh. Northern have something like 14 guys who have played Vic Metro. They also have a number of private school commitments, Cotchin, Stanton, Sanfillipo, Tantis-Hall etc.

Agree about Northern, very talented list, but IMO their coach isn't great and as a result they won't have the impact that their list should.

Kruezer
Veszpremi
Cotchin
Grimes
Hurley
Kelly
Bongetti

Now there's some talent.

Your right about that, and add:

Spiteri
Stanton
Meredith
Tantis-Hall
Sanfillipo
Zaharikis
Power
Simpson

All of whom I think have represented Vic Metro, 14 in total, that's a pretty immpresive list

A bit unfair on their coach I think, they are in the top four right now. They've done that with a handful of talented players out with school footy and perhaps more importantly the loss of a key forward in Bongetti. He's missed four games now and still leads the competition goalkicking by 3 goals.

If they hold a top four spot, come finals time with 6-8 players returning they'll still be the team to beat.

Sandringham and Oakleigh are the one who I feel for at the moment, they've both got 12-15 players out each week with school footy.

Anyway this thread has deviated way too much from the topic heading!
