When Nick Riewoldt first entered the AFL scene he was touted as one of the next big things in the AFL. A few years have passed now and I'm interested to see what people think of his career and how he will perform in the future.

Do you think he can be an absolute superstar player who will dominate opposition games and win games off his own boot.

Is he over rated and will he just be a good contributor for the Saints without actually tearing teams apart.

Does he have the ability to dominate games if he wasn't injured all the time.

What do you think.

He is an absolute superstar.

To be a superstar you don't have to dominate every quarter of every game for every week.

Atm Matthew Richardson has taken the most marks of ANY player of the last 15 years and also the most contested marks (including Wayne Carey).

But at the rate Nick is going he is the only player who is even capable of matching Richo's marking dominance, Riewoldt is taking more marks per game than any other player in a long time.

He is an elite player, it's pretty simple, he's potentially the best marking player in about 20 years at the rate he is going.

he has amazing work ethic and is always the last to leave the traing track...this i admire but he really needs to stand up now and get tough cause i think hes a little soft where is comes to presence on his opposition....for example you always knew when you were play on wayne carey ...he let you know it...he needs to do that to be a super star

The big blokes who are reffered to as champions have generally stood up big time in finals.

Dunstall, Brereton, Ablett, Lockett, Kernahan, Carey, Daniher....... etc..... that ilk.

Riewolt will get more chances to join that type of player group, but until he stands up or wins the Saints a final or string of finals, he is in the "emerging / could be" category.

He has the potential to join the absolute top group of champions in the game, but at this point in time there are many others that rate higher..... at this point in time.
