This is a follow up from the "best duo" poll. Most people of course rate Judd higher than Hodge, but who would you take out of Hodge and Bartel? I say Hodge by a whisker.

Clearance work - Bartel
Pace - Hodge
Ball Winning - Bartel
Disposal - Hodge
Hardness - Bartel
Marking - Bartel
Leadership - Hodge
Decision Making - even

I can't think of other stuff to rank them on.

Bartel has crept up really fast and is becoming one of the best picks from the 2001 draft and thats saying something. I would pick Hodge just because I have seen more of him thus I am biased. But I would tend to think that the best of the 2001 draft looks like
1 Judd
2 Hodge
3 Bartel at this stage
Dal Santo would probably slip in at 4.

It really annoys me when a player in RED HOT form is compared to another and the results become so skewed.

Hodge >>> DAYLIGHT >>> Bartel

If Bartel continues to perform like he has for another couple of years, then it is worth a poll.

It's like saying Polak >>> Scarlet because Polak has had a great season ...

Bartel is the complete package. Seriously though I'd rather Mitchell over Hodge.

I wouldn't put Bartell ahead of Hodge for hardness. Hodge is very hard at the ball.

Comparing Scarlett to Polak is like comparing Franklin to Judd... The comparison looks promising, except...? Well at least Polak is consistant.
I was gonna call Franklin a front runner, but he cant even play a decent match when the Tassie Hawks are having a day out.

Even on a slow day he managed a top shelf running goal.

Give him some time - let him have his 21st birthday at least....

Bartel throws his body around like a rag doll. He goes in very very hard.

Hosge also does but no were near as hard as Bartel

I have not voted for obvious reasons, but i would like to say that Hodge should be way mor ein front.....
bartel = very good footballer
hodge = GUN footballer
i am only going to say this coz i believe bartel goes missing when his team isnt travelling all the best, i honestly believe Chapman is a better footballer than bartel and thats becoz he is always performing, regardless of the scoreboard

Hodge has had 1 elite season (2005). Bartel has had 2 elite seasons (2006 and now 2007)

Hodge has been instrumental in our season this year and will appear in the Top 5 in the Brownlow.

Not to mention he was R-up in our 2006 B&F playing the entire season under duress from injury.

He has been elite from 2005-current. Pre-2005 he was still establishing himself, however he still had Bartel comfortably covered during those years.

Would have between 6-8 votes already and is only starting to hit absolute top form the past 2-3 weeks. Most certainly a chance of coming top 5 Brownlow.

Depends.

This year - Bartel.

Over Carrer So Far - Hodge.

Future On Current Form - Bartel.

so much more damaging with his disposal

13 votes from 12 or so games in 2004 isnt good enough? How about where he finished in the B&F last year? Is that not good enough?

No one is questioning that he is a great player, but if you watch Hodge a little more you would agree also that it's comparing a Ferrari to a worked Skyline.

Have any bloody Hawks fans even watched Jimmy in any games this season? You cant just rate your bloke the best when you have not watched the opposition player.
The only difference between the two is that Jimmy is a full time midfielder, great at the contested possessions and a better mark than Hodge. Hodge is better by foot but has not made the transition into the midfield (due to injury, team needs).
Both hard as nails and first class players no doubt about it. The poll is legit.

Nail Hammer Head.

It would help if some Hawks fans bother to watch Jimmy play more than just the games against Tassie before making assumptions about him...
