Could anyone tell me what their understanding of what was going on with Hird and Goodes, when Goodes was bumping into him and knocking him over etc.

He mightve taken upon himself to attempt to put Hird off his game. Otherwise, I had no idea why he began targeting Hird.

I think he was trying to put him of his game.

Well the ******** didn't do very well, he just gave away free kicks.. And possibly could've been reported if the umpire had a better view- Just a random strike.

Does goodes have a tattoo on his arm?

I think hird was suggesting the soft **** gets a hard ball once in a while.

I think it put Goodes off his own game...
Worrying to much about Hird and not the ball.

Goodes was let off as he did this to another player earlier in the yr and was caught out by the cameras and umps . He did this also to Hird last night to put him off his game etc .
Goodes is a coward, lets face that fact .
A week on the sideline should remind him of the coward he is .
O'Keefe may be in trouble with the MRP for his late hit .Wasnt a collingwood player rubbed out of a grand final for a " late hit " ?( yes ) .

Nah he'll be fine. If he was gong 2 get reported it would have happened on the spot. The umpire saaw the whole thing.

He was trying to tag King James to release the Bolts tag and the King would have none of it...!!!

While I was pleased to see Bolton play well and shut down Goodes last night, I think calling Goodes an overrated coward is ludicrous and utterly stupid. If anything, Goodes is underrated. He's never mentioned in the same breath as Hird, Voss, Buckley, Harvey, Judd or even Brown or Riewoldt. Why is this the case? Like Hird, Voss, Judd and Brown, he's a premiership player. Like Hird, Voss, Buckley and Judd, he's won a Brownlow. But only like Harvey has he won it TWICE.

A Premiership Player AND a dual Brownlow medalist.

Now what does this say about Mark Bolton who owns this champion SOB?

And like Harvey, he is very rarely mentioned in the same breath as Hird, Voss, Buckely and Judd. He probably is underrated, but he will never be mentioned as the equal of Hird Voss or Buckley. Same goes with Riciuto. He is a champion, but he isnt rated as highly as the others.

Goodes isn't in the same league as Hird, Voss, Buckley, Harvey and Judd. It's an insult to all of them to compare him to them. I even feel insulted on Buckley's behalf and I can't stand him. Do you honestly think he's up with these guys ?

Ablett has no brownlow or premiership and he's regarded by the some as the best ever. Carey has no brownlow. Matthews has no brownlow. That argument doesn't hold up.

So hypothetically if he managed to win another one or two he still wouldn't be rated highly by yourself? What does he have to do to make you open your eyes?

If he lifted his game to the level of Hird, Judd etc I'd rate him up there, but I seriously doubt he's going to take it up that many notches. He's just not as good as them. He doesn't make things happen like they do. He's quite soft and plays as a receiver. He's good at that but his game relies on others and he can be more easily stopped than the others who win it themselves. He stands out in Sydney because they have so many workman like players and he's the flashy type. They win lots of games, the flashy bloke gets the brownlow votes. I rate Hall and Kirk higher than him at Sydney.

I rate him highly. I don't think he's a champion like Hird and Voss. You seem to think he's as good as them ? Hird at 34 is arguably as good as him FFS.

I find it extremely insulting to Hird that you'd say Goodes should be up with him.

No I don't think he's as good as Hird at all. He just doesn't get credited as being a champion, which I think he is.

hird is a million miles ahead of goodes and that isnt an insult to goodes at all. Hird is a special player and he showed it last night, i just wish he would retire :P he was everywhere in the last quarter.

i agree goodes comes no where near hird...he was just performing his typical CHEAP SHOTS...which as we all saw didnt work against the quality of hird....hird has his measure the whole time....hird...legend
