View Full Version : Matthew Lloyd's kicking. What's happened!?!
Last night, his kicking was terrible! Especially that shot from 20 metres out directly in front.
If he was playing this match 3-4 years ago he would've nailed every shot. What's happened? He's my favourite player, but his kicking isn't up to his usual standard.

Yeah, something's definitely up. To me it looks to be mental. Because he drilled that goal in the final quarter.

I think it was just pressure.
His kicking for goal is still up around 70% which is up there with the best in the competition.
Nothing to worry about yet.
has let himself down this year on the standards he set over the past 10 years
He's kicked 27-13 this season. So it doesn't seem that bad. Just last night, in the 3rd quarter, he missed 2 that should've kicked.
As I pointed out on Blitz, Shite Mike recently wrote about Lloyd (how he's our most important player etc) and mentioned that his accuracy over his career is 69 percent. This artice was written a week or two ago but his accuracy was at 74 percent at the time of writing.
Agreed that that 20m miss was a shocker but his accuracy hasn't been that bad at all.

I think its been highlighted because he missed them at crucial times in the last couple of weeks. Missed a couple this and last week when it counted. Which is unlike him

I reckon his accuracy this year is inflated a bit because he's kicking at least a goal a week on the run from the goal square. His kicking more goals on the run in general.
He is definately missing some you'd normally stand up, go for a leak and come back because you know he's going to kick it.
He probably could be kicking at 90%.
He seems to have lost a bit of distance/penetration with his kicking. He normally had no problems kicking from 55 out but he's really struggled this year.
Agree with Longy...would get a better idea if we compared his set shot accuracy.

Agree. The thing is he kicked that one after the siren last week from 55m, so he's still got it, but when he's in close they are just not coming off the boot with as much power as usual. Maybe he's holding back because he's a bit conscious of the hammy.

Scott Lucas' kicking. What's happened!?!
He has been playing, and kicking, very poorly over the last few weeks
