thought i would start this as i hadnt already seen one... pev is a definate in because he will be ready by then, we need him to do a tagging role i think on judd/kerr.
although mcveigh and welsh could be used on them like they were last time and rough them up a bit... seemed to work last time.
Ins: Peveril
Outs: Houli or Bolton
personally i think houli needs to be the out.. i hate a player being omitted after a great performance... and houli only had the four touches last night 3 of which were handballs.... i like the look of the kid and think he will be awesome but for now in the important games we need experience..
Perhaps also heffernan as an in to do a defensive midfeild role?

Yeh I think I agree with Houli being omitted. Has played some great games so far but Bolton to our suprise played really well, so we need to give him more of a go. I wouldn't be suprised to see houli come back towards the end of the season with a bit more experience. If any injuries spark up Hislop might get a chance. I have heard that Rama is not far away but will not play in this game. Some have said he will make his comeback in the Cancer awareness game against Melbourne providing we can promote him to the senior list.

That was me. It doesnt sound like he is playing too well in the VFL ATM, so he will have to really step it up to get the promotion ahead of D!(k
Ins: Peveril Outs: Houli or Bolton
I don't think Bolts deserves to be dropped on last nights performance.
Maybe Houli and Nash out for Peverill and Hislop.

Suppose you have to persevere with Laycock but he was a waste of space last night.

He actually took a coupla good marks.. it was what he did after that that causes problems.

laycock may need to keep his spot so ryder can play in defence the whole match although i really dont think laycock should be an AFL footballer...
thinking about it now though i think laycock should be dropped along with houli for peveril and maybe campo seeings i hear he is doing well in the vfl. dropping laycock could work in our favour, cox killed the roos this week i think it was like 27 possessions for a ruckman? thats insane, i think ryder could run with cox around the ground, so maybe ryder should be a defensive ruckman and pretty much tag cox??

Your going to need a second ruckman against Coxxy and Seabs
Would be a good idea to keep Laycock in.
Watch out Kerr plays really well when he returns from suspension.
In: Campo, Peverill
Out: Bolton, Houli
Bolton is stiff but would prefer he missed this one, WCE are a terriffic side, we need the experience and skill in the midfield

Given that against Sydney Laycock had 4 hitouts, 0 to advantage.
I think we could probably live without him. Needs to build that fitness base before we can see what he's actually capable of.
I'd prefer we give Laycocks rucking duties to Ryder, allowing us to bring perhaps Camporeale without losing much.
Brown's looking pretty good for you guys, and i think Staker kicked a few, but your forward line isn't as worrying as Sydneys was. We could manage without Ryder down there for 10 or so minutes a quarter.
i didn't think laycock was too bad last night, did very well with second efforts and body work around the ruck contests.
I'd love Andy lovett to be fit for fri night as we are one pacy runner/hf short at the minute. Its a shame he is injured as Davey runs himself into the ground with defensive chasing and our forward line suffers with his absence.
Its probably no surprise that we were at our best when jetta was giving davey a chop out. Another quick ball carrier would be useful in breaking things up against a team that defensively loves to play man on man.

After today's game, i'd thing's to happen like this:
Ins:Campo, Lonergan/Pev
Outs: Houli, Bolton/Laycock
Does anyone know whether Pev will be right to face the Eagles?

I really hope we don't drop Nash.
Houli out for one of Lonergan, Campo or Pev.
Laycock could cause problems for them up forward at the Dome.

But he would also be a liability for us in the ruck and around the grounds. Dropping him would force Ryder into being our 2nd ruckman, and he would be more than capable of going with Seaby around the ground. WCE have very mobile rucks and I dont think having Laycock in the team will help us.

Could bolton tag judd?
Bolton did look much better against sydney with a 'run with' role. The tagging job does make your job simpler in that you just have to be where your opponent is. Pev resurrected his career by going back to basics and having some tough tagging assignments, perhaps this is what Bolton needs?? Judd would be too tough though.
As food for thought... could Kepler do a job for us in the ruck???

I would love to see Nash stay in the side. Could he do the tagging job on Judd? no. but what an education.

Surely he could do a better job than Laycock, he's better around the ground and when wer'e not using him in the ruck, we could even trial him in the forward line.
If there are no injurie problems i could only see one change.
In :Pev
Out: Houli.
They obviously rate Nash pretty highly to put him in the side after pretty much only half a game with Bendigo so i dont see him being dropped after one game. Houli has had a bit of a taste and has done ok but it is time for him to have a few games back with bendigo to refine a few things he has learnt. Laycock to stay in , the Eagles have two good ruckman and our defence looked well ballanced with Ryder back there all night. Altough Bolts is not in our best 22 he would be unlucky to be dropped on last weeks game.

I like your thinking. Sheedy also needs to think hard this week and come up with something groundbreaking to handle the speedy West Coast rovers. Tagging just won't do it.

Very tricky selections this week.
Outs : Houli, Bolton maybe, Laycock maybe, Nash maybe
Ins : Pev, Campo maybe, Bradley Maybe, Lonergan maybe
bolton didnt kick 10 goals or get BOG - so of course he deserves to be dropped... fools
bolton stays imo - as long as their is a matchup for him

In Pev, Campo
Out Houli, Bolton (should never have been there even though did ok, should not promote players who arent going well at BB level)
Close to being selected, Hislop, Lonergan, Cole (if gets of report) and Bradley (another good game on weekend)

personally i would like to see laycock dropped.. ryder is extremely mobile for his size and i think could run with cox/seaby.... i would like to see ryder running with cox, make cox very accountable and restrict his influence on the game (what was it 27 possys on the weekend?) ryder probably wont win the hidouts but if he restricts cox's influence to around 10-15 possessions its a win, our hitouts can come when hille beats seaby..
we are probably going to have at least 2 tagging jobs (judd and kerr) so hitouts arent that important anyway seeings our midfeild will be largely defensive.

I would prefer Ryder to run with Seaby as he could probably win a few hitouts to advantage over him. Meanwhile Hille's best attribute is that he nullifies good ruckmen by affecting thier taps. Hille should face Cox.

Houli needs to go back to the 2's. He's had his taster now he can go back and work on his game. I'd also drop Laycock, not playing well and we don't need Ryder down back as much against the eagles.
Bring in Pev, and Cole probably and i wouldn't be against dropping Bolton for another runner.

I think we should stop moving Ryder around and just leave him down back, because when Ryder goes into the ruck, it leaves a huge hole in our defence which i don't like.
Just bring Bradley in, he'll do just the same as Laycock, except do a way better job around the ground.
I'm a big fan of Jay Nash, leave him in I say and let him play.

Bradley will go close to playing, as will Dyson and Camporeale. Pev should come back in, but who goes out could be between a number of players.
Houli, Laycock, Nash and possibly Davey, Monfries and Slattery could be omitted.
I say Davey because his influence on games have gradually decreased since round 1.
Gus needs to add consistency to his game, he's lost too often.
I know Slattery plays defensively but Pev and Heffernan do too and Heff's form could possibly warrant him being selected.

BOLTON CAME IN TO TAG GOODES BECAUSE HE HAS THE HEIGHT AND RUNNING CAPACITY TO GO WITH HIM.
WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO UNDERSTAND ITS NOT ALL ABOUT FORM IN TH VFL IT ALSO COMES DOWN TO MATCH UPS ESPECIALLY AGAINST THE TOP SIDES.
THERE SHOULD BE 5-6 PLAYERS IN EACH VFL SIDE CAPABLE OF DOING A JOB AND STEPPING UP TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL ITS CALLED DEPTH.
IF SHEEDS THINKS BOLTONS FORM WAS UP TO SCRATCH SATURDAY NIGHT AND THERE IS A MATCH UP THERE HE WILL PLAY AGAIN.
FOR ME HOULI OUT PEV OR HISLOP IN:)

Agreed, he better get a game this week. I want to see some young talent and see how they are proggressing! Lonergan In for Houli at least. Pev, Bradley other possible ins with Laycock and Bolton making way for them.
