View Full Version : How on earth can Port have 10,000-11,000 noshows to a quality game under emotional circumstances ???

They would have sold about 1,500 tickets (at a minimum, because there sounded to be at least 1,000+ Hawthorn supporters there) through bass and at the gate today and add that to 33,500 members and only 24,000 turning up today.
What a disgrace, and to think Port Power people declared on here that they would attend in droves to honour Choco's mum passing. More like stay away in droves.
That is almost 1 member in every three that didnt turn up today, Port Adelaide must be the biggest bandwagon supporters in the AFL. They should rename Alberton to Mount Alberton for the amount of downhill skiers that have Port Power memberships.

Time to relocate to Darwin.
I'm sure they'll find a way to blame Crows supporters for small crowd somehow. :)

Didnt twit say in the paper that they didnt go to other games this year because of 30 minute television delays ??? Another excuse smashed when are they all going to accept unless Port are winning every week Port supporters just dont want to go.
They are only Port supporters when they are winning

Port Power should take a leaf out of Richmonds book. 0-9, 25 years of shitness and we got 30,000 to watch Brisbane, the most ugly playing team

Thats because Richmond have a group of supporters that follow them week in week out, whereas Port fans are clearly only interested when they are winning. If they had a shit period like Richmond have had they wouldn't even be getting 10,000 to their games.
The thing that gets me is that it was the game to pay tribute to Chocos' Mum and given they've had two losses, but they were playing Hawthorn (my team). The Hawks have been Ports perennial bitches since 2001, they have handed out some serious hidings to the Hawks in recent years.
So you'd figure the crowd would have come sensing a change in fortune. At the very least they could have filled the ground then left mid way through the third quarter.
The only full bay in the stadium was the Hawthorn supporter area
Def: Sad

I think they were saying the supporters prefer to watch the game on TV in a pub or something like that. Can't work that one out. Apparently, they're more passionate about beer and more loyal to the pub than their footy team.

Yeh you should expect teams like ports average crowd to be around their membership mark. Thats what I expect from essendon when they play teams like port @ the dome. Port are a disgrace to the AFL at the moment. Could they be the 1st team outside vic to relocate??

It's because most rank and file supporters know that their team is a fraud. First the Swans, then the Cats exposed them for the con artists that they are. They knew damn well that Hawthorn were going to do the same.
As the old saying goes, "when the going gets tough, Port get stuffed."

Jesus, things must be bad if they're making the tigers fans look loyal..

it astounds me as to why you crow boys really care about our crowds and players and loss' so much, wouldn't you be trying to piece together how on earth you gifted the bottom placed, winless Melbourne there first win for '07. why are the PAFC so intriguing to you blokes?

Melbourne with their full side which is back now is miles better than their record.
I dunno why did Port supporters sit in judgment of Adelaide supporters for years only to turn around and do the same stuff that they do :D Where were the supporters today ??? We have been lied to for years that Port supporters arent bandwagoners.
Why did Port supporters lie about their loyalty. Werent you smart enough to realise that you would be caught out, or thought that "sanfl" form would carry over ??? Centrals are showing what an "even" competition the SANFL is and now is showing people that a good football system and income it will bring success and it is showing people that it wasnt just a "Port" thing.
I must admit I have never been bothered with the attendances for the Port games but I really wish more people turned up yesterday to show their respect to the Williams family.
