*Poor bloke, can't take a trick*
That's about it to be honest.
Yeah, lets rip on a bloke who bleeds for your club.

I think it's disappointing for Team and Captain not be able to play together. The boys would want him to play and he'd obviously want to play. We are winning and they would all want to be a part of that.
I don't think it would matter in terms of our ability to win a match neccesarily, but I'd like to see him out there playing for the Hawks.

I'm pretty sure I know what you want to hear, or at least expect to hear.
FWIW I think along those lines. That is, well at least that's a tough decision the selectors don't have to make (for a while at least). I certainly do think Vanders is good enough to play in our best 22, it's just that I don't necessarily want anyone dropped from the team that has been performing so well. Tough for Vanders and all the best to him but it isn't going to effect our season too hard.

Same as I always think. Injuries are part of the game, and I hope the player has a speedy and effective recovery.
"i hope that he's not out for long. we'll need him in the 2nd half of the yr, when we're in a form slump."
I think he will get another year if that's what you mean...but if he keeps breaking down all the time, he might not end up playing too many more games. Hopefully he gets himself right
Will hurt us badly in the 2nd half of the year.

Disappointed for him and the loss of his onfield leadership but the beauty of our club at the moment is that we are playing tough, skilled footy without the likes of Willo, Clarke, Vanders, Smith, Croad & Dixon having a massive output. Hopefully they'll all come good in the 2nd half, as we will need them, but it has been a blessing in disguise in terms of giving added responsibility/ and fast tracking the development of blokes such as McGlynn, Lewis, Young, Sewell, Gilham & Boyle - who may not have been given the chance had they all been playing.

I feel like cr@p actually. Our captain has done more for our club behind the scenes than most people would ever know. On field, he adds another tough player who gives 100% unconditionally for our club and sets an example for our younger brigade.
Anyone who rips on Vanders doesn't deserve to be a Hawthorn member IMO. I dare any of his critics to say something against him within earshot of any of our players.
The only positive is that we can trial another young player while he's out.

Yeah Roddy, poor form.
He's been a great leader for our club through tough times, i dont think alot of people truly appreciate the effect he has had off-field on the playing group.
Sad if it ends this way.
Well i think shit not again poor bloke, enuff already with this thread , he took 6 weeks suspension for his club in the imamous line in the sand and the scum have been our bitches ever since, so every one be honest and agree.

I feel sorry for him as as he is a top bloke but from a team point of view i'm certainly not disappointed at all.
Poor bloke cant get in the team with his injuries. Will really miss his leadership, but we can certainly cover his role.

i thought, bloody hell just after his coach got into a slugefst with the beast from the east
i wouldve luvd 4 him to come back next week and play like i know he can and shut the mouth of the most ugliest she-man on earth.
we do need his experiance back if we guna make the finals, just remember when benny mglynn knocked that bomber over after vanders got a good mark and going 4 goal
he let benny know what he did was wrong
we realy do need him to help with the kids.
