View Full Version : Do you fear playing Melbourne?

Now that the Dees are starting to slowly get a full side back, there is no coincedence that they've been ultra competitive and could've won 4 of their last 5 games (excluding West Coast but who else doesn't get thrashed over there)
I believe we'll have a say on shaping the 8 and make life hard on mediocre sides like Essendon and Kangaroos who are contesting for the finals.
Discuss.

A threat for sure, full strength Melbourne are a good unit.
yep. the dees up and running are a top 6 side. so i'd expect they'll help clear out the congestion in the 8 a bit by, as don said, beating the more ordinary sides

I would fear them more than Richmond or Carlton, but not like playing Geelong or West Coast at the moment.

Looking forward to playing melbourne.
Hopefully it's the same results as last year. At full flight they are a very good side

It's funny how some Melbourne supporters have voted that they fear playing Melbourne...

There are no easy games anymore but put it this way. I would rather be playing Melbourne than:
West Coast
Sydney
Geelong
Freeo
Essendon
Bulldogs
Brisbane
Kangaroos
Port
Collingwood
Stkilda
or
Adelaide

I can't say I ever really fear playing Melbourne. I know they have been, and may still be, a better side than us. However, even when we are on the bottom of the ladder and they are flying, they are always one of those sides that you still think you can beat.
I assume this is a joke. :)

Any game is a danger game but still yet I think opposition teams would go in a little less confident playing Melbourne rather than the other cellar dwellars eg carlton and richmond. Not that were much better but were pretty much playing a side at the moment that has made the finals the past 2 years as opposed to the first couple of weeks when we were injury riddled
..k opposition teams would go in a little less confident playing Melbourne ...
Oh yeah, Holland, Jamar, Godfrey, Miller and Carroll strike fear into their opponents. Huge laughs. :)

Parrot your back, where have you been old son ? ..................... oh wait Carlton won.:D

Been missing you parrot. Where have you been the past 6 weeks?
I know you'll dodge the question and come out with something like 'Carlton are so much more talented than Melbourne, I don't ever need to answer this', but it is fun to poke holes in your arguments :).

Only Carrol + Godfrey are in our best 22 out of those 5 you named so I suppose your right the other three aren't going to strike fear into their opponents. The other 35 players though!

When I think Melbourne, I think "43 years of failure", I think "1 win", I think "ordinary no-upside list", I think "Melbourne-Hawks merger", I think "15k snow-season attendance's", I think "if only we could play these easy-beats more than 2 times per year". :)

Speaking of supporters going missing Parrot, we thought you died.
We haven't seen you on this site for a very long time. I wonder if that could have anything to do with the shame you must feel watching Carlton produce another septemberless season's effort?
Anyhow, if we don't hear from you again this year wish Barb a merry christmas. :)

I don't know the player you're referring to. Perhaps I should force myself to watch more Dees games - but I just don't find them relevant anymore. Going by the recent 15k attendance's at Dees games, I suspect I'm not alone. :)

The biggest fear is that you don't end up with the percentage booster that the other clubs are getting against this overrated mob of showponies. Heh heh. Go the Demons.
