Hislop may get a call up this week, but Gumbo's out until at least Round 13 (Hamstring).

Actually, Jetta was our only priority draft pick.

I dont think we will change to many things while they are going write but the nervious thing for us is that we have a tough month ahead not counting our latest win. so unless we start loosing no changes but one tip for this week is Campo will be coming in for someone

Patience. Give them time to develop. I would be happier if they both get enough tiume to prepaer themselves for the next step at the lower level.

Neither of them are making a massive case for selection and who would they replace?

i wouldn't be suprised if we dont see them until rd 1 next year.

I guess this means that we've got depth and enough decent players vieing for spots, so yeah. Wouldn't mind seeing that.

Hislop is very likely to debut this year but Gumbleton has two problems: namely Lloyd and Lucas. As a key position player having him in the side would just make us top heavy.

Why rush? VFL development can only help them, and we have absolutely no need to bring them in. Who would you drop for them?

I'd bet my house on Sloppy playing this year... Gumby's in a bit of trouble with that hammy so its not looking good for him this season.

At the same time why not? AFL development can only help there them as much as VFL, they were both were playing against men last year. Bolton, Bradley, Johns, Campo, Cole, Dyson, Laycock have all got games this year and not taken there chances, what is worse thing that happens they got dropped back to Bendigo. Gumbleton is said to be one of the best KP player to come through the under 18 system since Riewoldt, I can't see Sheedy hiding him in the VFL for to long once fit

The problemm with letting the young guys develop in the seniors is that we have to drop some older guys whp [robably dont deserve to be dropped. Fair enough if we are out of the finals race, but we r 6th FFS! We need to keep winning, and to do that, we cant overload our team with inexperienced players.

I think that was the problem with us 2002-4, we probably could have gone more youth oriented because although we were in the finals race we were not in the premiership race.

Ever thought of reading your own clubs site rather than starting a new thread that has been aswered many many times over?

Gumby will get a run in the 2nd half of the season. Let him get over his current injury and string a few games together with Bendigo. There is no need to rush!

He started off the year quite slowly after a few injuries, but had strung together some very solid Bendigo games until he did his hammy

And one that has earned his spot in the side and done well enough to stay there. You seem to be contradicting yourself.

mm yer ive used the wrong example maybe like campo he has been in poor form of late even though he didn't play last week but still we need the younger ones playing and any one know when Lovett-Murray will be back he's been gone for ages and heard that he'd be back some weeks then he never has been he'd help out heaps in the back line and apparently jetta is back this week or is that bull shit?

Slattery is a gun. No need to get rid of him. Sam Lonergan needs a good run before Hslop and Gumby..Gumby will upset team balance atm anyway..

better to keep gumby under raps at this stage, clearly with his injuries his body wasnt quite ready for senior VFL or AFL footy. Second half of the season and the finals watch out for this guy. No need to rush him yet. E.g collingwood have done with scott pendlebury, taken 6 in the draft held him back for half a year, then played some good footy late 2006 and 2007 has been one of the pies best players. Gumby will most likely do the same

Gumbleton is a much diifferent player to the other players they have tried as the 3rd tall forward in Johns and Laycock. Bradley maybe the player that stops Gumbleton playing this year if he gets his chance and takes it

i agree this kids got a huge motor and is an agressive type....he might help put that grunt back in the back line that we are renowned for
