Yes/No?

No.

Anyway, I am more interested about cheering the guys who wear the brown and gold with pride.

.

No! I have better things to do, like barracking for our team.

I'm not sure to be honest.

No doubt over his first 2-3 years he was of great service to us (from memory he won a B&F?) but he did leave us on unfavorable terms...

If I went, I would probably jeer him the first time he got the ball, but leave it after that.

Yes, I would.

Don't think I wont be cheering for the team less than usual, but i'd be booing him whenever he got near the ball. He was a good player for us during his time with us, but he left on bad terms and said alot of things about the club that I havn't forgotten.

For all we know as well, booing can have an affect on the way he plays his footy.

Take a look at what booing did to Tarrant's performance last weekend.

What's the point?

I think boo-ing is both childish and unnecessary.

Now sledging, particularly if you're playing, that's a different story. :D

I don't blame him for leaving....We offered him 1 year, another club offered him 2, the rest is just talk. Listening to Collingwood supporters boo Tarant last round shows how dopey they are, they traded him.

That's the irony

In regards to Everitt, he was courting Sydney during the previous trading period, his decision to leave Hawthorn wasn't decided halfway through the 2006 season, he was mentally a Swan before bounce down 2006.

Yes, Hawkk. He didn't have his mind on Hawthorn. He reached for his wallet and found it was getting a bit thin.

I'm not sure if it was to do with money, Everitt is chasing a premiership and given where we were when he was at the club, clearly in his mind we weren't going to be contenders while he was still in football.

I can understand his motives BUT the reason why I'm disappointed with Everitt is that when he decided to leave (and colluded with the enemy), he virtually dropped his bundle and gave us stuff all bargaining power to try and court a good trade for him. If he wanted to leave – as he did, the least he could have done was put in the effort to perform to a reasonable level and at least give us something in a trade.

The fact that we are flying with the youngest list in the league, is just one of those things.

Spider gave the Hawks some very good service while he was with us. He doesn't deserve to be booed, and I'd like to think Hawks fans were above that sort of thing.

its just part of being a passionate supporter, its not something to take that seriously.

he did leave on bad terms and had no respect for us and his former teammates.

im still throwing a pie at him

He left to win a flag and they have fallen down the ladder and we have risen. He might have had a better chance if he had stayed but then again Box Hill are struggling.

I wont boo but I may wave raffle tickets at him!:p

The only reason I won't boo spider because he was never in our future plans.

Plus I was never a big fan and was very happy to see him leave hawthorn:).

I would describe him with one word "Cancer":thumbsd:

5 Jun 2007, 17:08
Yes...... but only when he's not looking..... otherwise it will :D wasnt me!

Seriously.

It will depend on Spidas attitude. If he plays footy, no. If he plays smart buggers with Bob and or Tayls, yes and more.

A thread like this reminds me how much I miss Grendel & his comments. Grendel would not likely have ever been labeled as much as a "tiny" Spider fan. In fact, he dispised the big self-centered half-wit and considered the day he came to the Hawks the 2nd worst day in club history!
Grendel would've probably started booing on Friday when the Swans' plane touched down & wouldn't have stopped until it was back in the air on Saturday night! Add a yes vote to the poll in honour of the former moderator!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

(NOTE-For those of you too new to remember, Grendel was a good moderator on this board who vanished into the ether one day in late April of 2006. No one @ BF knows what happened to him & he is missed and remembered by many of us.)

Spida wanted to leave us. He said it was about a longer contract but I think he was p%ssed (p@ssed) off with us and wanted to go to Syd to do more media and make more money

I wouldnt boo someone like Nathan Lonie or Chicky who didnt wanna go, but i think it is fair too boo selfish guys like Spida, Thompson and Rawlings.. coz they left us.

Agreed. Have no time for the blokes that chase the money, a la Nick Holland.

A friend of mine from Queensland who knows nothing about AFL told me 2 years ago, you get rid of Everitt and you'll do well. I said no way he's been one of our best players and we would be a lot worse without him but I think he was right.

Everitt is cursed or something, a jinx, bad luck.

If i recall, Chick asked to be returned home to WA, and said if he didnt, he would deal with it, but wished to play for WCE.

It will just happen and you will probably find yourself joining in, even if it is in jest.

no, even though he left on bad terms he did give alot to the club. imagine not having spida for the last few years? we would of performed even worse!

The first time he goes near the ball/gets the ball...probably yes, but that will do me. I'll be over it then! Unless he knocks someone out ;)

Are we going to start to become richmond/magpie/demons /freo/ swans etc supporters - I always thought hawks supporters were a bit above that.

Like who cares about spida (loser).

(we would also look pretty stupid booing him if we lose)!

Buddy Hero
5 Jun 2007, 20:14
Wouldn't want to inspire him to play well... Its not worth it not like he really cares about being boo'd.

Ranno
5 Jun 2007, 20:26
It'll be a tough one we all used to hail him, literally. He was a hero for Hawthorn fans when he was there, so NO. He shouldn't have left and in hindsight he'll probably be thinking the same given our success. But you can't blame the guy for wanting to have some sustained success he's one of the most unlucky footballers in the AFL when it comes to that.

His average is staying steady at the moment. It would be on the up if he was still playing with us.

he's a dirty rat and went to Sydney for success. the funny thing is we're 3rd and there 9th.

absolutely, positively, make no mistake about it!!!!!!!!! BLOODY selfish individual. HE was Peeved off he didn't get captaincy, then chose to court sydney and tried so hard to put pressure on the hawks. What and you want me to ignore him.... NO way till hell freezes over... WE offered him a chance to stay, but he was, AS USUAL, selfish.... LOSER!!!!!!! will not play in a grand final again 'cos he's a jinx and very very disruptive.

any chance of getting all hawthorn supporters that are going to the game to do this? i think a silent crowd waving raffle tickets is very appropriate for spida.
