Simon Taylor (Hawthorn) – The ruckman's rapid improvement, after a full pre-season for the first time, has been yet another reason for Hawthorn's rise in 2007. The Tasmanian played his finest AFL match against Port Adelaide, winning 18 disposals and 16 hit-outs.

Dean Cox (West Coast) – The crack ruckman played his best match for 2007, winning 27 hit-outs and 27 disposals against the Kangaroos. Cox also took 10 marks, sent the ball inside 50 on six occasions and chipped in with two goals.
