g'day guys,
i'm a carlton supporter, but i played footy with the fitzroy juniors a while ago.
i had a look in the lions online shop and found this

its the last jumper the roys wore in 1996, i think this is a great jumper for all the old supporters to go and buy.
it looks absolutely awesome, and seeing i couldn't find any authentic fitzroy jumpers i'm definately going to buy one.
does anyone know who brisbane play in rd 14...i'd love to go and see an afl team where the jumper again.

Its also being worn against the Hawks later on in the season so it can be seen in melbourne!

You can also buy an authentic Fitzroy jumper from the shop owned and operated by THE Fitzroy Football Club.

Fitzroy should be in that jumper again in the VFL.

That's good Roylion to buy that jumper, but geez this Heritage Fitzroy jumper looks great. It will be fantastic to see them wear that this year.
I was as passionate (& still am) about Fitzroy as anyone going around. Even the most fervent Fitzroy haters of the Brisbane Lions, could at least find these jumpers appealing ?

Except for the sponsor's logos, isn't the Fitzroy jumper the Lions are selling for $129.95 and the jumper that the Fitzroy Football Club selling for $80 virtually the same?

Great to see. Annual Fitzroy Football Club membership is $25. Help Fitzroy Football Club continue the Fitzroy tradition and continue to advocate for the rights of the Victorian members of the Brisbane Lions

The fitzroy one looks to be wool, etc so they are different fabrics, constructions, etc. All AFL footy jumpers are over-priced but its not like you are paying for the sponsers logos only.

Just to clear it up for some people brisbane plays West Coast at Subiaco for Heritage round - appropriate in way, seeing as it was the ground Fitzroy last played on.
But great never-the-less to see it going to be worn in melbourne too:thumbsu:
For me it will never be a real heritage jumper until it has the blue FFC on the front. That gaudy, made-for-TV yellow, in conjunction with the outrageous red is far too unsubtle for the aesthetically astute true Fitzroy afficionado. Bring back the maroon and blue. :)

You'll find it will probably be closer to the real colours than the Brisbane one anyway. Theirs is more light, than royal blue.

I have rang the Melbourne Brisbane Lions office this afternoon regarding next weeks match with the Hawks. As we are wearing our Fitzroy strip that we wore against the Eagles for this match, I have suggested that the old Fitzroy song gets played as we burst through the banner followed by our current theme song. I think it would be a lovely touch for the old Roy fans. I have asked a few of you over MSN regarding this. It is in the process of being considered, I hope it gets seconded.
