With 6 goals to go for ML to hit the 800 mark and join the other 10 Elite players in the history of the AFl/VFL to achieve this - who will he kick his 800th goal against....???

games to reach 800

165 lockett
168 mckenna
171 dunstall
199 ablett
200 wade
203 coventry

*220 lloyd

lloydy will be the 4th youngest at 29 to reach this great milestone though.

lockett was 27 (amazing considering how much football he missed, mckenna and dunstall were 28)

I highly doubt that Lloydy will kick 6 on D.Glass.

So far this season he has kicked 2,4,5,3,3,4,3,3. The 5 came against Carlton and let's be honest Setanta is still learning the full-back role. Against a quality opponent like Glass I would think he has his work cut out for him.

yeah once again would be fantastic to see him kick a bag and beat the eagles but unfortuantely will prob reach the milestone in South Australia. With how many years lloyd has left? what 5 or 6. How many do you recon he will have at the end of his career and where will this put him in regards to the greatest coventary and lockett

I have a sneaking suspicion that Lloydy's going to have a good one on Friday.

I'll back him to kick 6 and bring up the 800.

As for the total at the end of his career, I'd hope he cracks the 1000.

Crave
6 Jun 2007, 18:53
Essentially, all he needs is 50 goals a season for the next 4 seasons to crack a 1000. Wouldnt imagine he'll get close to the lofty heights set by Ablett, Lockett & co. but top 1% of goalkickers is one mighty stat to add to one's resume.

true in bombers eyes, remember lockett missed 11 games in 88, 12 in 89, 8 in 1991, 9 in 1993, 11 in 1994.
would have kicked over 2000 if played all games.
we can all be pressumptuous at times.

he has to get to at least 350 games for that feat and even then wouldnt do it.
loydd is a star, however in all fairness his best is behind him, nesxt year will be 30, no way has he that long left in him.
he isnt buckley, harvey or hird and can never measure to any of those guys that are up there.

Well, if our midfield stocks continue to improve and hopefully, our delivery, he's going to have more opportunities to kick bags of goals. This isnt as good as it gets for him, we still have stock to turn over come post season/draft time

if he wasnt injured for last 2 years he would be goin for like his 950th goal
ropey comment there, considering that he averages 3 goals a game.
thinking that he missed 6 games in 02, 4 games in 01 and missed 19 last year.
thats 25 games, if he is on target for 800, and he played all 25 games and kicked say 80 more, he will still be a long way of 950.
secondly ur not thinking aboutb the games he would have played and his average for goals wouldnt be too crash hot.
to be going for 950 as u said proves ur defintion of not understanding a 4 goal average from a full forward.
he has 223 this weekend, had he played all last year and the other 8 games, he would be going for 250 games this weekend.
again he would have needed a record breaking season of 150 goals.
he cant be compared to the greats of the game, easily because he has kicked double figures 3 times in his career, and a century of goals twice.
both during grand final years, also never actually gott those centuries during the home and away season but rather through playing finals.
unlike ablett, modra, dunstall, mckenna and lockett, who all did so during the 22 games.
lockett and dunstall were on target for their 1000th career goals by game 200, and missed 3 times the amount of games loydd has.

222 games, double figures kicked 3 times in his 222 game career.
2 centuries in back to back grand final years both of which were powerful teams.
his best has passed him, he is alot older, had injury finally catch up with him.
the season u had in 2000 u can never againrepeat, which means that loydd cant do any better than when he was 21, 22, 23.
get johns to fire, i like him.

no way, the poor bloke has put his body on the line, has played alot of footy, its unfair to expext so much from this man.
let him wait and see how his body holds up in the next 5 years.
come on bomber fans, be fair to ur champ, seriously he isnt james superstar hird.

peter1979
19 Jun 2007, 12:38
bombers for ur sakes, get off the loydd band wagon, and look to johns, he isnt getting enough support, its always about loydd, come on dons poor old loydd needs to relax abit, before ashole teams start harrowing him down in his twilight football years.
remember some ******** teams started targetting hird the last couple of years.
he is ur captain, look after him and have players always fly the flag for the captain.
dont put so much pressure on the man.
i liked the youngster dempsey, he looks great for the future.

but hey fairs fair i like the bombers coach sheeds, who i have met a couple of times by chance meeting is a genuinely nice bloke, has a nice personality, why else have the players over the years had such a great and noble respect for him.
gotta give credit where its due and i would be a little sad for the game if u dont resign him.

lloydy 811 and has superboot bernie quinlan in his sights (815) which will put him as the 9th greatest goalkicker in the game.

just looking thru the list he's only 246 behind wade which would put him in
4th spot. surely thats achievable and perhaps more depending on how many games his career spans.

course we'll see it again. just don't know when with no out and out superstar full forward going about at the moment.

anyways he's passed superboot. well done lloydy!!

only 8 guys in front of him.

i don't have a prob with him passing 7 of them (or for that matter lockett as well as long as he does it in the same amount of games or less) ;)
the equation for you lloydy....543 goals in 53 games.

True but he's said before that the reason why he wanted to become a FF was because the first game he ever went to Bernie kicked 9 goals.
