No, I'm not. But I'm thinking of going to a game in Melbourne in July/August. If you've gone over for a game, have you gone Friday & come home Sunday & did you feel that it was too short a trip? Would like to hear what people think. Thanx.

I'm going end of August round 21 versus ST Kilda at the Dome. Its a Friday night game, so it works out best leaving on Thursday and returning home the following Tuesday. I usually spend 4-5 days there.

I try to get too all the Eagles games in Victoria.
I normally drive over but cheap flights and crazy petrol prices have changed that - sometimes get the good old firefly express too
It is a pretty quick trip every time. Get there on a Friday arvo and leave on a Sunday evening.
If we win its all good - especially if we win on a Saturday afternoon game - just head out to town from there - great atmosphere at the MCG and the Dome. Thankfully we dont play at those little grounds anymore.
If you can I would say to take the Friday and Monday off so you can have a 4 day weekend there and soak it all in.
What I like to do is go to the Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday games if there are any in Melbourne.
Anyway, whatever game you choose - Hope the boys get up for ya!! :thumbsu:

We're going in August, round 19 (Kangaroos). Decided to go over friday evening/night & come home Monday night. I don't really want my son to miss more than one day school (altho I'd be happy to miss a few days work!!) Looking at staying at Quest Docklands but it seems a bit pricey??? Any ideas?
Went to Melbourne last weekend with my daughter and a friend & her daughter. We went to the footy at the MCG but sadly it was the dockers!! Can't wait to see the Eagles at Telstra Dome!!! I know it's a lot of money to spend but I'm not a member & it's impossible to go to a game at Subi.
Cuzz09, you should have shares in the airline if you go to most of the Melb games :)

Hey Cuzz, (or anyone :)). Looking at booking seats for Round 19 @ Telstra Dome. Seats on level 2 are much more expensive than level 1, so I gather the seats are way better. My question is - how much better is the experience on the second level, is it worth the extra expense??

If you are making the effort to fly, buy good seats, the 3rd level at the dome is ordinary, either 1 or 2 are good, it just depends what you want to pay.

If you're used to watching footy at Subi then any seat at TelstraDome will seem fantastic. Given that the crowd won't be huge for Kangas v Eagles just buy level 3 and sit as close as you can to the front. The view is still fantastic.
I have Medallion Club seats on L2, but they're right on the behind post so I always move around onto the wing. It's very rarely full.

I'm glad you said that, I bought seats on level 2 just a few days ago. Figured exactly as you said - what's another $60 on top of a trip to Melbourrne?!!
