What's happened to the Teddy Bear?
Might have to PM him J&B to wake him from his pre winter slumber.

Has been kicking bag fulls for the O & M tigers but keeping a low profile since the Para Rd mauling of the NFL tigers.

Sad but true.
Apart from the Chilcott bros and the occasional McNiece not many left from the McDonnell Reserve days.

Would be even fewer if you consider it used to be Ienco.

To any interested Montmorency personal. Terry Paterson a former stalwart of Mont and Lower Plenty F.C, (son of Frank and Hazel) will be down at Lower v Panton Hill on May 10 to catch up and have a beer with all those who would like to attend and reminisce. Terry has fought a brave battle with a brain tumour over the the last few years, which it seems has finally gotten the better of him. He has been a great servant to local footy and i`m sure he would appreciate catching up friends past and present for a chat.

No point trying to reason with Stringa, he's too simple to understand anything other than where the disabled toilets are at Bundy Pub.:p

Agree that Northcote Park are notorious for poor crowds, even when they are winning. Although at least their ground is one of the best (surface and size wise).

Simple- appropriate screen name now i realise your identity!:D

Heard a rumour that in a move touted as the most strategical of the season, Supercoach Cowboy will be pulling on the guernsey in the Slime v Tigers matchup. He figures he should be able to crack at least a dozen tiger cranium's before anyone will do any real damage to him, therefore reducing them to 10 men- too few to continue the game and therefore handing the Slime the victory by forfeit!, a master stroke!.......Bring Back The Biff:thumbsu:

Samuri is back from the cricket trip and is ready for the big clash between the Bull's and the black pussy's this week, but im most interested in seeing whether or not the gow will line up to play in the 1's. After leaving the bull ring sighting a lack of opportunies he left hoping to get a regular gig in the 1's.

Why are the tribunal results not published. Last week they were not updated AT ALL on the website. It's now Thursday and still nothing from this week.

They also do not appear in the record.

The website in general is fairly poor.

No need Brucey.
As a fundraiser to buy the Slime a couple of ruckmen I believe both clubs have agreed to a pre game "cage match" - Cowboy vs Trew.
In the interest of public safety both protagonists have agreed to wear masks so as not to frighten the kiddies.

KING GARY AKA ANDREW STURGESS, eltham would be right up there with the worst crowd pulling abililty in the league... and right up there with the worst football playing ability... and you eltham p**fs forever blame it on the amount of young players you's have in the team... this is because one reason you's are a shi t club and EFC does't attract any new players to come play for yous which is fair enough as you's are nothing but a DIVVY 2 SIDE who hav got lucky for a couple fo years....

Good win by the boys but full credit to the Bloods. They could have gone home at half time but although the margin stretched out, had a real hot crack at it in the second half. Will certainly trouble some sides later on in the season as they gain experience.

Thanks for that MOTH, as you said we could have left but continued to have a real crack in the second half. We are under no illusions about what is required to improve and get there with the big boys but we have played the two most likely premiership fancies in the first 4 rounds and can only walk away knowing that if we continue in the right direction we can trouble most sides. Hopefully we can get the big fella and a couple of others back next week to help out with the younger players.
Congratulations on yesterday's performance and we look forward to seeing you for the return leg later in the season.:thumbsu:

Stinger still doing the hard in and under work which goes largely unnoticed.
Copped a leg injury on Saturday and may need the witch doctor to aid recovery.

Honest showing by the Cougars - inaccurate kicking in the second quarter cost them any chance of exerting scoreboard pressure on the Tigers. Understatement to say they missed Jeffries against the bigger bodies of Heidelberg.I watched yesterday and blair was definately injured looked slow and frustrated has he been like that all year? Its sad to see when a star of the past drops back to the pack due to injury. I hope he returns to his natural form i enjoy watching him when he is playing well.

You must be bleeding KA:mad:.Not here to rub it in being a bulls man, great game especially last 1/4.Very tense could of gone either way.I know there were things said between us but I stand corrected. The panthers are the real deal.Very quick running side and some youngsters who will only improve:thumbsu:.Their only deficiency is a lack of height which will find them out all year.:thumbsd:The bulls were almost run off their legs but lifted after half time. They had a few players down yesterday but full credit to them and ray swapping them around at the main break.

Yep! Out with the old and in with the new. Perhaps we can gather up all the club(s) honor boards and memorabilia, assemble at the NFL and have one big bonfire and just simply forget about the older, living and not living, members of our community that have contributed significant time and resources to our league over a considerable amount of time. If nothing else, the seven dollar gravy train will grind to a halt and therefore generate more club funding. Somehow I don’t think so.

Anyway, lets not forget our wager regarding the U19. Terms and conditions for this coming weekend?

As an eltham person jake whitling has been forgotten about. Good luck to jake as i have known him since under 10's, with his new team at mont (just not against eltham). We have picked up andrew sturgess who has replaced jake as a skillful running player to put on ball, also i think eltham picking up josh lorey was a bigger win than mont taking jake of us anyway. Josh lorey will be and is a superstar, just a bit small for the ones at the moment but will soon be a part of it.

perhaps you could ring kevin smith & apply to become an umpire yourself.

majority of problems come from people standing still & determining a free kick from the other side of the fence, holding a can of v.b or the like.

Our match of the round will see Bundoora take on North Heidelberg with Richmond's Jake King on hand to help with the formalities. There wil be other famous faces wondering around the game and a half-time Auskick game to keep you entertained.

Collingwood's Rhyce and Heath Shaw will be heading over to the Diamond Creek v Greensborough game and the Kangaroo's Adam Simpson and Lindsay Thomas will be checking out the Heidelberg v Eltham game.

ill happily send in my resume once my playing career is over. Are we short of umpires or something? Some of the decisions the old bloke was throwing out were close to being a joke, the crowd knew it and the players knew it. I know that at times Cougar players did ask for the free-kicks to be evened out but that was only after one of the worst quarters i have watched. It seems the umpires are holding past grudges against the Cougars players, no clear head when walking out onto the ground.

just my opinion

A slab of soft drinks is supplied to all visiting teams 1st 2nd and 3rds
We have adopted the policy that many other clubs have of supplying a slab of soft drink rather than alcohol.

Also interested to know if the umpires have been instructed to act first/review later in relation to the issuing of yellow cards. Have seen more yellow cards in the last two weeks than in a World Cup soccer tournament. Infractions that would have previously incurred a free kick/25 metre penalty are now being carded and the player sent off.

Speaking to an U19s field umpire I also believe the cards are not cumulative over ensuing games ie. you can be yellow carded each week and start with a clean sheet the next game. Surely this needs to be reviewed as players can re-offend with impunity.

At this point in time don’t see any merit in making the role of our umpires any more challenging than what it already is. Notwithstanding that, while Australian Rules Football continues to be a contact sport tempers will be tested from time to time. Or is it time to protect our precious little darlings to the degree where any contact results in a yellow card.

Might as well watch or play soccer if that’s going to be the case. Not this lifetime!!!

Totally agree Stringa. Let's hope legal actions don't get in the way of hopefully a good contest. NFL have already stated that this match will be broadcast on 88.6 due to the huge interest it has been generating around the traps over the summer.

i just have a feeling that one of the whitnalls will miss that game, maybe due to this legal action they are involved with, but maybe an injury of the brian lake magnitude might occur so one misses.

From what I heard last weekend, order has lapsed and is not an issue.

Surely this needs to be reviewed as players can re-offend with impunity.
agree there have been a few cards issued (perhaps some umps work the tables at Crown)
a few rule interpretations are the result of that i.e head over the footy etc.
we are mere puppetts to uphold what higher bodies have decreed
dont shoot the messenger.
in relation to the cards... it is my understanding that it hasnt changed from last year in that you can collect 2 in a game & be off for the remainder, however you can collect them like footy cards (but not swap them ) i do believe however that the league have a number in their head & if you go over them you might be expected to front them & explain your actions.
sorry for banging on here & hope it clears up the card issue.
any more info i will duly oblige to the best of my ability

Fair play to you blower, umps come in for a lot of critism on this thread and in general, and every time you get on here, you don't arck up you just explain your interpretation rationally and calmly, that is all anyone can ask of you. Keep it up!!!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Appreciate the information. Not having a crack as I am genuinely interested in ensuring the playing personnel stay within the rule parameters :D

I wish the NFL was as forthcoming with specifics.

Well here goes nothing:

Most interesting match of the round- Bundy v Norf- Norf just.

Heidelberg over the Panthers (by 5 points just to give em the s__ts):D

Boro (after a lashing from 3 of the top 4 sides) to return to the winners list against Creek by 5 goals.
Then Tooms to lead the c0c.k off at the beach party until it is gatecrashed by Dylan Atkins and his third leg. The wet t-shirt contest to provide solid entertainment all night too. Damo to win.

The quiet achievers Northcote Park to account for lalor easily.

And Monty to spiflocate West.

Go Slime:D

Morning gentleman and Scarface. Wow.

Tips for this week are:

Heidelberg by 7 goals over Panther.
Slime by 4 goals over DC.
Northcote Pk 5 goals over Lalor.
Mont by enough over West.
And, in an absolute belter, the Bulls to win by 8 points against Norf.

Also, im going to go out on a limb here and tip that there will be some ordinary umpiring again this week, seems to be getting worse year after year.

morning all.
my selections for today are:
the slime to win over creek at the bridges
heid to inflict another single digit loss to eltham
the bunnies to be too quick for norf
lalor to rebound against the cougars
monty to build their percentage even more over lakies

and yes agree that the umpriing seems to be much poorer this season than last - probably because keving 'the rat' smith is now in charge ....

Whistle Blower,

Fully understand you feel the need to stick up for the nfl umpires.

But, it seems that comments on here from several games a week have negative reports on umpires. How many times can you claim the 'beer goggles' excuse before you start to realise that things are bad. I know for a fact that every game I have seen this year the umpires have been terrible. The only positive out of it is at least they are being consistant..........consistantly bad.

Umpiring at Bundoora vs North yesterday was ordinary for both teams.

Happy I follow a division one club however. Would hate to see the crap the division two clubs have to put up with each week. Yuk.
