Bummer
Collingwoods nathen buckley has agrevated his hasmting whilst doing a full fitness test. It is unclear how long it will set him back.
i was looking forward to having him play at willy for a couple of games hopes not serious just needs to lay off the work for a bit.

That could be just about stumps, I'm afraid.
:( If i had known the last game he played in was going to be the last game he played in i would have gone.
P.S it sucks we lost his last game (if it was his last).
Hopefully just tightness..
F U Buckley.. (or your hamstring)

Put him in the player disposal unit..... And make Rocca the fully fledged captain, if he doesn't want to, then Jimmy our man will do something.
Seriously, at this rate, why bother?

Just saw it on the news and it did not look good. Full lead and pulled up straight away. Had a big limp afterwards. Told the news crew it was just tight but when they asked him straight out if he had done it again, he kept walking and did not answer.
Sorry to say that this could be it for the great N. Buckley. I hope I am wrong though

Easy guys. He looks to have aggrevated it yes, but he didn't look too upset afterward, smiling etc
Reporter asked" Did you just injure your hammy again"
Bucks: "No, no. Just a bit tight but not too bad.
Reporter" "Will you play this weekend?"
Bucks:"We're looking at it"
Don't quite write the bloke off yet just because of another possible media beatup.

I haven't seen the footage, only the beat-up. :)

As Roy Orbison said, "It's Over".
Toit loik a toiga.
indeed....
he won't retire. he will live to play again even if he has done his hammy again. despite his age and his physical condition he is one to be able to come back and still dominate a game. just look at robert harvey... was in a similar situation a few yrs ago

Thanks for giving me a bit of hope mate... my first thoughts were "that's it, it's over" but now I'm choosing to believe it's another Malthouse stunt to make everyone think he's out of the match and then he's a surprise selection LOL...
... I can dream!!

Someones body is trying to tell him something.
Sad end to a great career.
disgraceful news. Why can't someone else have this chronic ahmstring problem why the greatest player have to have it. There is no god.
Terrible news again for the poor bloke.... Get it right son and have one last hoorah next season...

:(
Poor Bucks...apparently the doctors had told him weeks back if it happened again, it is simply it. Let's hope he has a farewell game , but with this, it will be hard to see him coming back.
Good Luck on recovery Bucks.
despite what has been said on the radio and what was shown on channel ten, there has been no real confirmation that he has re-injured his hamstring. as much as i dread that fate, it is possible that it was a little tight or that it cramped up or some other possibility to explain him limping. i think it is a little early to be mourning at this stage.
i'm trying to be optimistic

Absolute tragic news for the great man.
Nearly ran off the road when I heard it on the radio, could not bloody believe it had gone again, esp as he was talked up by David Buttifant a week ago as going great guns & in the mix for Queens Birthday :(
As long as Bucks can lead us out as captain & play ONE more game, I will die a happy man..
Good luck Bucks you champion :thumbsu:

Don't want to go in to my personal reaction after seeing the vision....but I tell you what if he did do it and he went and signed autographs before he left the track, that is a fair effort.
NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But dont worry he will rise again just like the last time the man up stairs sent down a copy of himself:thumbsu:.
Get Well soon Bucks you will forever be a legend and a great amongst all eyes.
apparently he is supposed to be talking on the news sometime tomorrow morning.
doesnt sound too good :-(
hopefully its just to confirm that nothing is wrong, but i have a bad feeling about it this time.

Best not to get too carried away regarding the press conference.
This is a pre-arranged conference for a cancer charity function at the MCG. Sure , he'll get asked about his hamstrings and may well give some indication of what the current situation is but let's not just assume the worst.
Cheers,
kemosabe
Any news on the Press Conference?

Dont train him to round 18, train for two weeks slot him in rd 20. Give him those three games to tune up before finals!
Then watch him lead us to another granny!
9 weeks off would surely heal the hammy!
Any news on the Press Conference?
Hasn't retired has reinjured hamstring, just another setback said he is doing everything he can to play again for the collingwood football club. Hope he is back in time for the finals if we make it would be a fitting end.

Said having experienced this before he knew he had "done it" again, but it was a small tear.
Feels better placed than at the start of the year.
With his history, and working in this field its at least 3-4 weeks, and then he still has to get up to full speed.
The other question is, is it worth risking him (from a team perspective) given he won't be able to run out more than 3/4, might get injured and take up a place on the bench, and you are winning without him anyway.
I know the guy is a champ, and if he can get back will probably play the "pinch hitter" role as Kouta is doing, but the writing is on the wall, and if you lost him in the first Q of a match it may cost you a game, and maybe finals.
Anyway - good luck to him. Would love to see him make it back for the return match vs us in rnd 18.
Would be nice to farwell the guy.:thumbsu:

Can I have one of them???

It's a pity, I don't think he can come back now .He will keep getting hurt.
He needs to retire for media or coaching. Age has got him,it doesn't matter how much courage and determination you've got if the bod keeps packing it in it's telling you something isn't it? Don't need to be a cripple in years to come.

Sounds like he's going two steps forward, one step back. That's a whole lot better than one step forward two steps back!:)
Just heard on the news in the background that Buckley supposedly said that if he didn't get back this year, he could always come back next year.
Don't give up hope yet ;)
For those that have access I've just noticed on the Collingwood homepage that the media conference is on CTV. I'll have to wait till I get home to see it but if anyone wants to post up what he said that would be great.
Poor Bucks. I'm optimistic though :thumbsu:
