What gives!!!
Two of our players that have quite possibly the best balance in the league, Vossy and Black managed to lose their feet quite reguarly, let alone everyone else that turned up and tried to run.
Nearly as bad as the sandpit in '99' vs Kangaroos.
Also, was their some sort of problem with the ball, it seemed to bounce funny, and float funny, Vossy and Possum made mistakes on our attacking fifty. I have a theory on this, I may be way off, but I think it has some merit.
A cricket ball swings immensly when the conditions are humid, it has an outer case of leather. A football is made of leather ( I hope you all klnew that:D :p  :D), Colonial Stadium is supposedly rather humid with the roof on, so the ball react rather funnily on occasions.

Homer - I was really worried for the players safety on Saturday night.
The grass was shifting quite alarmingly all over the ground.
The commentators kept on saying what a great surface it was!
I wonder who told them to say that, LOL.
I though Chris Johnson's ankle was gone when he slipped and had to be taken off.
Just as well Jonathan Brown was not playing.
Every player that tried to sharply change direction was in trouble.

I think the surface was pretty good actually, from where I was up close. Well, the grass looked to be growing well, at least.
A lot of players on both sides, I noticed, lost footing in a manner of slipping, as if on a wet surface.
I did notice that the grass was fairly long, and if the players were wearing moulded studs, along with the possibility of the ground being slightly wet, or damp, this may have caused players to slip over.
The only other explanation I can think of, is that considering the growth is still fairly young, whether or not the grass is "knitted" well enough into the turf.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "enclosure" style of Colonial does affect the way the ball reacts. Perhaps there is an inertness, in that there is very little breeze to keep the ball aloaft, or help it travel through the air with as much penetration.
Likewise, you never know if there is a different air pressure, considering other factors, such as air conditioning, and ventilation.
It would be interesting, if someone were to investigate, whether or not the atmospheric conditions in the stadium amount to any measurable difference.
