Well guys i been watching you play .You have the skill , player position savy , BUT you have NERVES .
As soon as you go onto the ground you all become a bundle on nerves .So then your decision making is gone , your reflexes gone and your confidence is shot .Dont be afraid of getting hurt , most dont get hurt .Your men not kids .
Your eyes give you away .Your too scared to have a go in case you make a mistake .Too bad we are all human .We all make mistakes .
So your all better players than what you have shown your club so forget the nerves or your careers wont be what you want .
Get in there and do something about it .The opposition are only HUMAN ( well maybe a couple aint ) they are just like you and me and when you go onto the ground they dominate you because your too afraid to have a go . What right have the oppositon got to do this to you ?Dont let them dictate to you on how you are to play ,thats gutless on your part .As one famous coach said thats not been at this club " do something "...the ball is in your court guys .Have belief in yourselves .You can do it if you want to .But do you want to ?

Haha, forget your nerves, or you careers will be over. Are you sure having players think like that will settle their nerves.

Bit unfair on Monfries I think.
The others though, you do have a point, except for maybe Laycock, don't think he has ever been able to bend down far enough to reach the ground.

I'm not disagreeing with you. But by telling them that their careers will be over if they continue to be nervous will only lead to more nerves. But you are right, they do need to back themselves if they went to have successful careers and to do that they need confidence. Whether they all have the ability to play well enough at this level to gain confidence is debatable. eg. Bolton is a 28 year old who has played 130 games. If its nerves that effect his game then they will always effect him.

No , they can overcome them by being more aggressive within themselves ,by that i dont mean punch etc the opposition just be angry of themselves within themselves .Play hard and dont think of anything but the game and game plan and of course your team mates .You have to hate the opposition to succeed , respect them but hate them .

There are many ways a player can overcome nerves. Your suggestion is just one of the many. But i feel with some of the players mentioned above they have greater flaws in there game then just being nervous.

Laycock is a ripper below his knees. Very clean skills for a big man when the ball is on the deck. If only he could have a good spell without injury and some decent match time.

Yeh, i don't really think that applies to Monfries, but it does apply to the rest of them.

Monfries is a really corageous player, especially for his height.
