Ricky Olerenshaw said that he damaged his ligament in his ankle. will have scans tomorrow to assess - hoping he will get up for next sunday. But i dont know how reliable that is. Are there any other injury worries from the game?
Don't think so. Except that Hirdy was getting is groin worked on at 3/4 time.

Sensational win guys!!! :thumbsu:
How about that holding the ball not paid against Jones with 30 seconds left. Unbelievable. And the Kerr holding the ball.
Henry Slattery was brilliant on Kerr; didn't give him an inch.
Henry Slattery was brilliant on Kerr; didn't give him an inch.
Kerr is the best tackle buster in the business and Henry took him down every time.
That was a great win, WEC smashed us early, but the way we stood up to the reigning Premiers and the tackling and pressure and hardness at the ball in the second half was just what we have wanted to see from Essendon.
I'm one very proud BOMBER

yeah well Essendon got done in the granny by carlton in 1908.

If that holding the ball basic decision that wasn't paid ended up costing you the game they would of burnt the dome down! One of the poorest decisions I have seen for a long time! Even before the stricter interpretation over the last few years came in that would have been holding the ball!

Every thread has had idiots from other clubs saying that the umps were biased toward us. I'm very confused, I counted up about 10 bullshit decisions that went Eagles way

I went ape when the umpire gave the delibrate out of bounds to them. First time I actually swore in front of my folks :D I know it is a rule that if you are trying to rush a point and it goes out, it is a free kick, but the two they had in 20 seconds in the opening qtr. Please be consistent umpires.

I've been to a lot of great Essendon wins but tonight would rate amongst the very best. Our determination and will to win was outstanding.
Never been prouder to be an Essendon supporter.:thumbsu:
I think the AFL should stop mucking around and make all the umpires wear the Eagles colours when they play.
Then it will be clear as to who is on who's side.
Will stop all this bickering about decisions.
Fairdinkum b..lls..t umpiring.
They tried their hardest to help the the Weagles right up to the last seconds!!! (Kerr holding the ball not played? - Give me soccer anytime)

Such a great fortnight to be an essendon fan. we have knocked off the last 2 years premiers playing fantastic football too. Too come back from 30 points down against a premiership side is what great teams are made off. Its exciting to be an essendon fan at the moment. How good was the shot of hird with his massive smile and the group all together. Loved it when all the players went and gave high fives to the fans behind the goals. I cam down from queensland for this game and am so happy :)

Hille not rushing it through
Fletch`s last punch on no.39
Campo`s two goals (could you feel the disappointment amongst both sets of supporters? )
Who cares? Can't believe you done it but you did!
Well done Bombers, cheers guys-gals!

Best dons match ive ever been 2, spent $257.95 on essendon merchandise at half time and bloody happy we won

I don't get it either, if the umpiring wasn't even it certainly wasn't favourish towards us, even udd's free in their F50 was soft, anyway, we just can't win a game without other supporters dishing up an excuse, they don't like to see it.

yeah well Essendon got done in the granny by carlton in 1908.
Who let him in here? Bugger off, you're wrecking the mood.
Everyone has seen the WC free stats this year and heard that they are protected speices etc and I thought it was all crap but the inconsistencies last night were blinding.
Judd took on two blokes early in the 1st, play on (OK if they do that all night)
Stanton, same thing, gone.
Then Judd caught dead by Hird (missed the ball attempting to kick - see cometti's brownlow jibe, Kerr twice caught by Henry and Chick had a fresh air kick after being tackled late as well and none of these were paid. Poor umpiring!
But luckily irrelevant!!
Great game, great character shown by the boys.
Hird awesome & well done to Slats, Hille (don't know what happened after 1/4 time but he was brilliant) Winders, Lucas & a great bump by Lloydy - more of that please!!!
But we didn't have too many passangers - even Johno tightened up after a poor first qtr.
Great way to start a long weekend hey!
Why have a go at the umpiring? We won. That's that.
Who let him in here? Bugger off, you're wrecking the mood.
I say let him in for we'll be there in September while Carlton will be on a beach in Thailand.
ok wow, that was intense
end of quarter time i was laughing thinking 10-15 goal game for sure
that game was intense all i can say, the atmosphere amazing
skill wise, its amazing how many freaky/talented run and carry type players west coast have, pound for pound west coast shit all over essendon but we just wanted that win more, to think when judd, cousins and kerr will be at full flight it really is a scary thought, none the less we beat the team on the park and in emphatic style.. i liked watching stenglein and priddas ****in gun players
we had alot of players that played BEYOND their potential
have to say hille and laycock played the best match of their careers
whilst reading the herald sun this morning, one hand stroking the chin and the other pullling myself off i realised they are ****in bias with 'best of grounds'
mine would be
lucas: he was the bloke that just kicked the goal when no one else had the balls to
fletcher: what the **** are we going to do without him. he gives so much structure to our backline
mcveigh: the **** just does not stop trying i remember watching him sprint 50 meters to contest a mark by rosa knowing that he couldnt spoil but just made him work for the mark, he busted his balls all night, tough nut very in and under type player but also very flashy always trying to bring down a screamer
winders: best player in the last quarter, you dont realise on the tv but when your at the game and he leads the whole ground for the ball and does that 5 times in 10 minutes you realise how quick and fast he is... watch this space this kid will go places
now going back to what jdw said
a) hird did get 32 touches and i remember counting 2 in a row where on the chest of weagles players didnt hurt a team like he use to great game none the less, possesions does not = good game
b) davey, can a team afford a player that offers 4 minutes of brilliance each quarter? every ****in game i have watched he bobs up for 4 minutes each quarter with some great defensive (basketball style) tackling and a sneaky goal here and there, love to watch him but please perform for at least 10 minutes a quarter
i needed to change my jocks after the game, atmoshpere was brilliant
when leaving the game some fat prick was repearting 'that was better than sex'
i loled because he probably never had sex before
end rant/

Great game, they had to dig deep and it must've been hard to follow up from last weeks thriller against Sydney.
Winderlich continues to impress, his gut run is fantastic and never stops trying to create the play.
Hille and Laycock played supurb and Laycock was handy up forward as well as taking a hanger over Lucas.
Lucas and Hird were exceptional and i thought Lloyd set the tone in that last quarter that we wern't going to be intimidated by hip and shouldering Selwood and his lunging tackle on Glass resulting in an Essendon goal.
I don't think my heart is ever going to be the same though, coming from behind 3 games in a row!
Nobody can say we didn't deserve it this time!

Yes Rodney Eade said in his Press conference that the Eagles players are a protected species well a dozen decisions last night proved that. It was like the umpires did not want us to win. They get alot of soft free kicks. Poor Mark Bolton last night gets the ball andgets penalised in the back, West coast kick a goal!

Thank you so much for beating those cocky pricks on Friday night :)
My fiancee walked around the local shopping centre decked out in Bombers clothing and black and red attire. It's OK for Eagles fans to gloat, but when the shoe's on the other foot - it's a different story. There's only one thing worse than an Eagles supporter after a win, and that's a sore loser Eagles supporter after a loss.
You guys have no idea how fun it is watching the ****ing Eagles lose, barracking for a Vic based side living in Perth.
Glad to see you guys having fun playing your footy, knocking off last years second place, then last years premiers - EAT SHIT WEST COAST!

You need to get a life. All the eagles supporters i know are certainly not cocky and don't sook when we lose either. Why don't you move back to victoria if you don't want to hear about the eagles. I'm over in victoria barracking for West Coast and i certainly don't complain about the focus being on the victorian teams when they win. You sound more like a collingwood supporter but then again carlton and collingwood supporters are very similar aren't they. Only have to read your post to see that.

No need to get so defensive, but knock me down, you and your friends certainly slip into the minority. You must be football fans, as well as West Coast fans - so perhaps my original post was a little harsh... honest, but harsh.
Why don't you move back to victoria if you don't want to hear about the eagles.
Never lived in Victoria, born in Perth and have lived here for 20+ years apart from the UK. Not sure if I'd swap WA weather for Victorian, nor the way of life here ;).
I'm over in victoria barracking for West Coast and i certainly don't complain about the focus being on the victorian teams when they win.
Glad to hear ;), but you don't have to read the junk that is the West Australian. Nor do you have to put up with tossers like Adrian Barich, Basil Zempilas and Chris Mainwaring conveying their inherent bias via channel 7. Judging from the time I've spent in Melb, I've personally observed that Victorian footy fans and the Victorian media are little more dedicated to presenting the competition as nation-wide, compared to the one-eyed and ever so defensive Western counterparts. Don't get me wrong, I love WA, it's in my blood, but getting an objective news story over here is about as rare as a Wakelin goal. A two team state versus a ten team state, which happens to be located closer to the rest of the football playing nation than WA.
You sound more like a collingwood supporter but then again carlton and collingwood supporters are very similar aren't they. Only have to read your post to see that.
I guess you've proved that you're just as judgemental as I am. I found out over the weekend that I am in fact progeny of a Collingwood supporter. I almost spat my Shiraz across the dinner table.
