3 players just doesn't do it justice.

Winders played the game of his career.

Too close to split.

But Hirdy, Hille, Pev, Lucas, Fletch, Winderlich all played oustandingly.

When Stant's went down i thought we were done for sure.

Slatts continues to impress.

Im a harsh bomber hater, and i loved the game of Winderlich ( spelling ) His run tonight was awesome, easily i thought BOG, Hird was great as always, I thought Lloyd stood up and was very phyiscal, but big Fletch was great also.

Forgetting big Hilles last half, he was great, beat the best ruckman in the league.

the votes as seen from a cats supporter

3 Winderlich

2 Fletcher

1 Hille

Left out Hird because everyone else is climaxing over his game.

Doesn't really fit here but didn't want to start a new thread.

Laycocks couple of goals were great... Very accurate at long range.

I for one didn't want him in the team this week, glad he proved me wrong.

We even had both he AND Hille at a few of the tapouts in the forward 50. That could be very very handy.

I'd love to see him groomed as a key forward, at least until he gets fitness behind him to play more in the ruck.

Agree, awesome mark he took.. Him and Campo who are much maligned players got some important goals when we were not going to well. great team effort in which everyone played apart

3 Flect - When he retires I think will miss him more than a Lloyd or even Hird

2 Hillie - Ruck work was good tonight and his around the ground stuff

1 Windlelich - His speed was great and his carry though the middle was a key to us winning.

Special mention to Hird, Laycock, Ryder, Campo, Watson.

Mate Flect was bloody outstanding in the backline tonight, the number of times the WEC sweeped forward and the only thing that saved us was Flect, yes Hird was great in fact in the second half they all were, but Flect was BOG

9 Jun 2007, 02:32
D.Fletcher was BOG by an ABSOULTE MILE.
It was the little things he did which won us the match.
That spoil on A.Hunter in the last minute from the kick from D.Kerr and his spoil right at the end.
On top of that, he did so many other good things and played the 'sweeping' role perfectly.
In saying this, J.Hird was amazing (once again) and would be leading our B&F quite easily at this stage.

And I can't think of one clanger from Flect, but on at least 3 or 4 occasions Hirds kicks were wasted as in they when to context that WEC's players won or ball went out of bound.

This is a view from a nuetral supporter of the match.

3 - Hird - No need to explain.
2 - Winderlich - Though he gave you guys great drive off half back. Has really come a long way this year and could be the next superstar of the competion with his fast running and good skills.
1 - Fletcher - Absolute rock 9in defence. May be having his best season yet.

Hille was excellent after quarter time but was belted in the first quarter and was a major reason for the quarter time defecit so left him out.
Lucas despite kicking 5 gaols was not one of the dominant players on the ground.
Peverill very unlucky to miss out on votes. Also thought that McVeigh an Welsh played good games.
And Matthew Llyod's final half was inspirational.

Winder's had a cracker last night! Provides so much run for us, so important.
Hirdy was great, as always. And Fletch just keeps on smashing it. Hopefully he's fine, but the HeraldSun or Age (can't remember which one) claimed that he may have torn an adductor muscle...hope not.

Special mentions to Hille and Slattery. Was impressed with Hille's effort to not concede that behind in the dying minutes too. Slatts took Kerr apart last night, his tackling was fantastic!

many played great games... i would still like to see heff, hislop or lonergan in the side before campo.. too slow and doesnt have the desperation - numerous occasions last night where his didnt chase hard, tackle hard or attempt to smother when they were there for the taking

How good was that play in the last quarter where he sprinted about 500m (slight exaggeration) to provide an option at half back, couldn't stop and almost tripped over he was running that hard ?

We didn't miss Stanton in the second half because Winderlich ran so hard.

I agree...i looked in the paper this morning and it said 10 critical errors for McPhee. He just seemed to have lost the plot last night. Can't fault him on his effort though, where in the last quarter he won a two on one except the umpire picket a WC free out of nowhere

I agree. His kicking from ~50 at goal was spot on, I was a nervous wreck waiting him to line up based on his past shots at goal.

Well done to the boys on Coxy, he got the better of them in the 1st half but they came back well.
