Yeah, well done.

Even though I thought we should've easily finished you off, there's no denying your boys have real heart.

Sean.

cheers guys - what a nice change after the bleating from the swines supporters all week haha!

fwiw, despite a couple of stumbles over the past few weeks, I still believe the eagles are far and above everyone else - good luck for the rest of the year.

for us, wins like this show that we're on the right track.
still a long way to go, but great to see the kids (and the oldies!) fight out games to the end and get some self-belief back after a dismal couple of years.

things are looking up, and that's all we can ask

Fantastic win.

James Hird - Is he the greatest ever? The best in my time I have seen is Matthews and Carey, James was always up there, but now he is surpassing that mark. He would rate up there as the greatest Bomber ever, how highly on the greatest EVER?

David Hille - Was every bit the leader that Lloyd was, showed just how important he is to our side against arguably the best ruckman in the competition.

Joeb Watson - Just getting better, his skills will strengthen, his first touch at hitouts is just so important to us.

Mark McVeigh - Has stepped up from a player that should get a game to a player that must get a game, has been superb this year.

Scott Lucas - How unfortunate that his era has been the same as Tredrea, Brown, Pavlich, Hall etc... Always gives us everything he has (Except handballs and a right foot) and thank goodness he does.

I know you shouldn't post on emotion, but who cares, Im enjoying tonight... Best since the last West Coast win... :thumbsu:

Chin up mate you've got some talent to came back into that side and some outstanding youngsters filling in. Your boys already have an eye on september and so they should.

As for my mob well we have some exciting young talent who'll come in over the next month or so that will add some spark to a dour midfield. Hopefully that takes us to another level as down back and up forward we seem to have things covered.

Well i better log off and finish that bottle of jamesons whiskey....what a ****ing win.:thumbsu:

Thanks, but you WCE's supporters have a great side you missed Cousins and Embley tonight also Judd appeared injured in the last term but your club is a class outfit which makes the win that must sweeter for its one thing to beat a side that wont make the 8, its another to beat a top 4 if not flag favourites.

Isn't amazing?

The last 2 weeks we have played last year Grand Finalists.

We beat them both by 1 point.

Yet the posts have been very different.

More respect to the Eagles supporters than they already had......:thumbsu:

First of all congrats Bombers on a great victory. We were very good in the first half, you guys were much, much better than us in the 2nd half. I cannot remember a team that has beaten us in so many close games. Essendon = frustration for mos Eagles fans. You guys really have the wood on us dont you - well done on a much deserved win..

We were lucky. Not that we played a bad game or didn't deserve to win, but any team with a one point win can consider themselve lucky. Congrats to the Eagles supporters who have in all the posts I have seen proven themselves to be fair and sportsmanlike. You guys still hold the mantle of best team in the comp at this stage and it's deserved. Hope we see you in the finals.

In a game like that I really don't mind losing so much - it was a great battle and a pleasure to watch

I don't normally like Essendon, but I loved your win tonite.
Great spirit and heart to fight back after half time.
Especially as you had to put up with all those s...t umpiring decisions. How was that holding the ball against Kerr? Looked like the maggots were trying to help the Eagles all night.
Congratulations for a great win and see the BOMBERS FLY UP UP UP,,,,

Congrats! Great win to the Bombers and what can I say about James Hird, I just think he is fantastic and have always been a fan of his. He is to your team what Chris Grant is to my team, All class!

Well Done Guys

Great Game tonight.

Hille hada MASSIVE game in the ruck - Turned the game.

Hird continues to go on and on and shows what a true champion of the game he is - PLAY ON SON!

Thought Winderlich hada brilliant game also.

Lucas was quality yet again - Always is

Great game and another great example of why the rivalry between us to is so strong! Best in the comp in my opinion!

All the best for the season guys - Youll be there in September.

Still not sure how we won

Lucky it wasn't at the G or Subiaco coz we would have got completely run over.

I guess that's what the home ground advantage is for.

Well done Bombers. You guys made the most of your opportunities and in the end that was difference. Always a bit of luck involved in a 1 point win, but you guys deserved it.

Hille, Hird, Fletcher and Lucas were terrific. I was also really impressed by Winderlich, looks like he's going to be an awesome player for you guys.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Fantastic match. And yes eagles fans alot better than sydney. Tonight was the making of a future essendon champion jason whinderlich really made ur mark tonight mate well done. Also hird ... how good is this guy, just when we all think his career is over he continues to amaze. I think he is the reason so many young kids want to play this great game cos hirdy is just such a champion. My moment of the match was early on when judd had it and looked like he was going to take off and hird tackled him to the ground. Judd ur not quite a james hird yet :P

Can James Hird just go and retire already.

What a player - his third quarter was sensational. Hille showed tremendous heart to fight his way back and Fletcher was outstanding against the flow in the first half - kept you guys just within reach.

We didn't get full value for our dominance early and you guys took your chances better than us. Thoroughly deserved your win.

Despite the result it was a great game of football, although I am getting sick of just falling short against Essendon.

Enjoy your win and see you in Round 22.

Woke up this morning expecting it to be yesterday all over again. Talk about Groundhog Day. Hird plays a blinder, Essendon beat us against the odds by less than a goal.

Well done Bombers, enjoy the replays as I'm sure you enjoyed the last hour of last night's match.

And please Matthew Lloyd, shut up.......do us a favour and stop trying to talk Jame Hird OUT of retirement. :o

Cheers West Coast people. I'm pretty sure you'll still be playing in the GF this year.

The footy you played in the 1st quarter was the best I've seen all year.
