I would like to hear from others regarding TAC Cup Coaches
are they there for the kids or are they there for their own personal gain.

Weird topic.
Most are probably there to develop young footballers AND to gain experience for their own CV with the ambition to take their careers further. Those two things can ocur in tandem. Most of them abide by the development principles of the competition.
What does it matter?

Good topic. TAC cup coaches can either go all out in search of the win, possibly giving them a better chance at furthering their coaching career as results can do the talking. The other option is that they put development first. Oakleigh is a fine example of this, playing guys like Otten, Sandilands, etc on the ball, not just shoving them into a KP where they won't play at AFL level, even if that may make them more competitive in the short term. A lot has also been said about the Vic Metro staff picking a squad to win the national carnival and in the process not giving other legitmate prospects a chance to impress. Again it's a matter of balancing results and personal glory against development.
