2004 in the first 4 rounds we beat the cats by 9 goals at optus oval. That was the most convincing and biggets thrashing we have handed out since tonight.

Arguably our best performance in a number of years. Well done guys. A fantastic 4 quarter effort.

Would love to see us ride a wave of confidence.........but with games vs Hawks, Freo (at Subi), Dees and Swans (SCG) it would want to be a big wave.

There are definately signs that the guys are starting to believe that they aren't crap anymore.......of course it helps when you kick straight (20.5 at one point).

We could possibly win 3/4, but a young group will be inconsistent, so we could just as easily drop all 4 games........

We aren't there yet, but the sneak preview has got my mouth watering.:thumbsu:

It'll be another couple of years before te Blues start to really contest.

Been great to see the improvement this year.. this side plays to win, whereas we were playing to not lose in previous years

I don't want to go celebrating yet - there's still a shit load of work to be done.

But in regards to tonight:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that the first time we have ever beaten an interstate side at the Dump?

Correct - no surprise really, we've fair dinkum struggled to beat an egg at the Dome. Mind you, i think the next few years will present a slightly different story to the last few.;)

A step in the right direction.

No doubt the signs have been there, and when you kick big scores week in week out then you are a fighting chance.

Self belief and confidence comes with these wins and if we work hard form start to finish what a game is in store next week against the hawks.

Wasn't it nice to be able to relax in the last quarter and know the game was safe, even if we did let them kick a few late. Great win. Mrs Sticks - the Port member - went to bed at 3 quarter time and won't talk to me this morning. I might have a nice peaceful day!! ;)

at 3/4 time the missus said "you dont need to watch the rest of the game, you know theyre gonna win".

i explained to her that i couldnt remember the last time we dominated a team for 4 quarters and i wasnt missing this opportunity.

The last few years we have out-srapped our opponents to win games. The last two weeks we have out-classed our opponents, something we have done in 6 years.
