Being 2nd isnt that bigger deal, your still up there and in line for another premiership. I'd be happy

yeah but if the pies win, then we could possibly be 3rd.

They would have to belt Melbourne by a fair margin to jump over the percentage.
Agree with the thread creator - who cares at this stage? We were about the same position last year at this time...remembering we lost Round 12 and 13 in 2006 giving us 3 losses.
We get to reassess who is in the team after the break and are a strong chance against the Saints and Crows.

considering the quality of players who have spent some time on the sidelines injured/suspended this year (Cox, Embley, Kerr, Cousins, Nicoski, Hansen, Waters, Butler) i think we are going well. A couple of losses here and there will stop complacency from setting in. No point in being the June premiers as Adelaide were last year.
Also no point in showing your hand in terms of coaching/tactics etc until finals. We will still most likely finish top 2 and top 4 at worst i think. We shouldnt get stuck into players who won us a premiership last year. Not at this stage anyway.

We're still in a good position, but can't deny that we've let things drop in the last 5 weeks.
There's still a lot of the season ahead, but if we can get back to somewhere near our peak we should end up in the top 2. If we do end up in the top 2, we're still a huge chance.
We always need to remember (no matter how frustrating Friday's loss was) is that it is a long season. Teams that perform at their peak throughout the whole of the home and away season are rare. Probably Essendon in 2000 is the only one that I can remember in my lifetime.
Geelong are probably the main the main threat for the flag at this stage, two things:
1) They're in great form, but be assured that they will drop off at some stage during the next 11 rounds, due to the reasons mentioned already.
2) They are not a finals hardened side, could make all the difference.

And let's also remember that the three teams we've lost to are currently 1st, 3rd and 4th. It's a long, long way from panic time.
Pies lost, but they needed to win by about 300 points to overtake us anyway.
