I know Tredrea is a lot slower and is probably passed it but to see our young star chasing down a former AA CHF was almost orgasmic, held Ebert goalless as well and is just really impressing me even if he doesn't get high numbers

The tackle was brilliant, but as you say, it was on Tredrea, who is well past it.

Yeah, killed Ebert.
Gray got away from him a bit though.
Great tackle on Tredders. Symbolic really given the grief he has caused us over the years.

On Gray, guess who was sold by Tex in the middle, not once, but twice in the 4th before he hit Setanta for the goal.............:D

Each game Tex looks just that little bit more comfortable in the centre.......:thumbsu:

It was the highligh of the night for me. Kind of like a passing of the torch, accept it was one of the nicest tackles ever. Who thinks it might be up for the Army award?

It was like a tabby bringing down a wilderbeast.

It just shows that the young carlton breed will take over soon. Even though every player could have caught tredrea most of them would have piled them into the ground face first and given away a free kick. Gibbs dropped his body to the floor and tredrea came tumbling over with him, very very smart.

This kid is going to be champion, no 2 ways about it.
Back to the Tredrea tackle, what was the guy thinking. He had a pace and a half on Gibbs when he took off with the ball. Talk about a brain explosion.

The look on Tredrea's face is priceless!

Almost as good as the look on Wallis' face when Fraser Brown brought him down! :D

And an overrated footballer with a stack of legspeed can run off Williams and a spud in Athorn to win a Norm Smith medal.

Payback for Tredrea checking Gibbs into the goalpost in the second quarter. :thumbsu:

You are clearly far too clever for me - what does that mean?

Tredrea is famous for his hard leading and marking and he couldnt get a metre up on Lance at the moment. It was great to watch Gibbs make the tackle but lets not think hes a speedster. He was chasing a limp old man who is struggling to compete. I felt sad for Tredrea, not excited for Gibbs.

Except the limp old man is close to 100 kgs and brought down by a skinny first year player with a perfect tackle.Gibbs' tackling is perfect and they always stick.

I wonder if a similar thread will be posted on the Hawks board for Roughies chase and tackle of Murph. :o
