View Full Version : Pav pushing Polak over
After a marking contest Polak was on the floor having come out 2nd best, Bowden cleared the ball and Pav was standing near Polak.
He went over and when Polak was on all 4's. Nudged him so he fell over again. He did it a 2nd time then gave up.
I've never ever seen him do anthing like it before.
1st bit of agro i've seen out of Pav, i think he's sick of always being the nice guy on the field. He seemed to lift after the somewhat inocuous incident.
Though out of character i think a captain needs to show a bit of leadership which isn't always about playing well. Sometimes its about flying the flag for the team.
It'd be great to see Pav get a bit of mongrel about him, as long as he uses it appropriately.
Maybe someone had a word to him after he allowed Harry O'Brien to walk all over him last week in the physical and verbal niggling. Your right, the captain does need to fly the flag.

A few of Polly's comments during the week were not exactly that respectful to the club.
I'd say his apparent eagerness to play on Pav but his gutless coach's refusal to let it happen might have also been on Pav's mind - I have no doubt that Polly knew full well that Wallet would never have allowed him to be exposed like that when he made those comments.

Yep I think a few of the boys felt that way. Polly seemed to cop a fair bit of attention. Either that or no one liked him when he was here anyway.
Still it was an interesting comparison to the respect Macca showed Medders before last weeks game.

I saw that, was pretty funny
Polly had a lot of support from many sections of the Club during the years he was there, including personal one on one mentoring and training. For him to mouth off about the Club now is very poor form, gone down heaps in my estimation .

Also shows, I reckon, that Pav thought he might be able to put him off his game if he roughed him up a little and got in his head a bit. Speaks a lot about what they (club and players) think of Polak's mental state if that's the case. If it is, then I'd say we did exactly the right thing in trading him.

Speaking of Polak, I thought he had a pretty good game until Thornton was moved onto him as a tag. Worked well yeaterday as it did with Wirrapanda.
One thing that I did notice was that it looked like Polak has learned how to take a dive since moving to Richmond. Anyone else think that he played for a few free kicks yesterday?

Yep I saw it on at least one very obvious occasion. Didnt get paid though, so he's not doing too well at it.

I laughed for a good 5 minutes when i saw that.. Pav actually has been getting a bit more physical this year. He took a mark against i think Adelaide and Pav remonstrated with the guy who dived on his back... small things, but Pav seems to be working on his argo a bit :)
Anyone think Pav's second efforts improved a bit yesterday?

I just wonder how long it will be before Polak gets a little vacation in LA :)
