I'm sure I will cop a bit of abuse for this, but could Carazzo be better than Murphy or Gibbs? It could be just a few good weeks (brilliant weeks) or it could be him stepping up to be the next Chris Judd. Will he be better than all our top 10 picks and what not, or will he drop off from here

I dont think so. Gibbs, definately but i think youd be wearing it thin to choose either Carrazzo or the Murph

Carrazzo's one big downfall is his disposal.
It has improved out of sight, but still last night he turned over a couple of times that cost us badly.
Gibbs rarely makes these errors, and when he does cough one up its not into the corridor on D50.
Murph likewise has much better disposal, and decision making with the footy.
Carrots has worked very hard on this though and has improved immensley.....and who knows, in the next 50 games may just make a leap to become truly elite.
We can only dream.:thumbsu:

Carrazzo's opponents have not been paying him enough respect of late whereas Murphy wears a heavy tag.
I see no reason for you to cop abuse for this thread though ... everyone is entitled to be wrong from time to time. ;)

Whilst Carrots has come a long way through work ethic and determination, becoming a very good and important player, if Murph and Gibbs put the work in, both will be better player. Let's not forget that they're both 30-40 games less experienced, plus 4-5 years younger. Carrazzo, however, while a ball magnet, I don't see him being as damaging as either of the other two once they develop more.

Carrots doesn't quite have the class of Murph and Gibbs even though he's the superior player now, but they'll catch up with age and experience. I think a good comparo is Luke Ball who is the same age and is a similar player. IMO there's little separating them at the moment which is fantastic seeing as we traded ourselves out of the 2001 draft.

Carrazzo is a star but it is unfair to compare him to a murphy
Carrazzo has improved out of sight this year, and to be honest, I really didn't think he had those sorts of performances in him. Like ODN said, opposition teams are ignoring him at their peril, and he just continues to rack up disposals at will.
Like BB said, his disposal and decision making can let him down a little at times, but given his rapid improvement this year, i'm sure we can forgive him for this minor slip up.
As for comparing him to Gibbs and Murphy, well, who knows. Murphy and Gibbs were certainly higher rated juniors, so I guess it's watch this space.

It's interesting to note that the year Carrots was drafted was the year of Ball, Hodge and Judd, (now i'm not comparing him to them) but in that years under 18's carnival, Carrots playing with and against these guys averaged more possesions, more loose and hard ball gets than all of them, he was only over looked due to his disposal not being as good as these guys, so if his disposal is improving who knows where he can get to.:)

Carrazzo has been terrific, has really stood up, but see his two horrible turnovers in the last quarter against Port to be reminded of the fact he does not have the A Grade disposal of a Murphy or Gibbs. He has been great though.
