Harley played on MacGregor once he went down forward. Rutten got Mooney. Nath had a shocker but the delivery into the forward line was absolutely terrible, mongrels to 3 v 1 in which the Adelaide players would sheperd the Geelong player out of the contest. Varcoe was even worse than Ablett and looked totally lost, though he did run down McLeod from behind.

Scarlett played on Scotty Welsh. Varcoe didn't have a great game.
