View Full Version : Just What Exactly is a Bandwagoner?

Let's assess it shall we, to help clear it up for those who are slightly challenged. :D

The bandwagon effect is the observation that people often do (or believe) things because many other people do (or believe) the same.

Without examining the merits of the particular thing, people tend to “follow the crowd”. The bandwagon effect is the reason for the bandwagon fallacy's success.

The bandwagon effect can be observed in voting: some people vote for those candidates or parties who are likely to succeed (or are proclaimed as such by the media), thus increasing their chances of being on the 'winner's side' in the end.

Bandwagon effect has been labeled to situations involving majority opinion, such as political outcomes, where people alter their opinions to the majority view.

But hang on; I often go AGAINST the general consensus on BigFooty. I stuck with my team during the years we struggled to win a game. Without doubt all the signs of a bandwagoner, right?

Are you trolling the Adelaide board now?

I wouldn't say bandwagoner, I take that back.

I'd just say a whiney pessimistic supporter who always looks at the glass half empty.

a bandwagonner jumps on and jumps off.
you're always jumping off, I guess we miss the jumping back on part.

you go and see norwood every week, and use that as evidence that you're a thick and thin supporter.

EXCEPT...

given the lack of success Norwood has had, pretty safe bet you bag all and everything about them to anyone who'll listen. we just don't hear about it on here.

be different, express an opinion, sure. but stop being such a whiny little bitch, it reminds us too much of the power troll, Total Loser.

How have I jumped off? Making a few threads which are perceived to be negative is considered “jumping off”?

doing nothing but whining, sooky, crying, and being downright negative - that's what you meant, right?
and none of this perceived rubbish, you've been told a hundred times...

a better question might be, do you think the club would want a supporter like you? would you be proud to defend your behaviour to the club?

Agree, they need to stop, it's ruining my experience on the Adelaide board.

That's because you're one of the best posters on BF.

The term negative seems to be thrown up a bit I have noticed, normally when you are speaking the truth and it doesn't involve saying the Crows are the best team in the league.

Drummond = GUN POSTER:)

Iam with drummond. He does say some negative stuff, but atleast he is'nt a one eyed supporter who will always be happy and positive about the club. That reminds me too much of a mormon attitude.

Maybe you should all stop bitching about his bitching. I know this sounds emo, but ur just trying to make him conform to your views.
