Lets face it, we wont make the finals this year, so is it worth it to win 5-6-7 games instead of getting the priority pick, should we just get one more number 1 pick.........by the way i think we should win as much as possible:) and not go for draft picks....what is your opinion??

Our aim should be to win as many games as possible.
Our list it pretty decent now, we have a deficiency in the ruck and lack of depth in midfielders. I'd say the coming few drafts will be used to rectify this problem.
So far this season we have showed we have great young guys coming through who need experience and leadership, wins are far more important for us at the moment than another #1 pick.

Its worth it as we need to start creating a winning culture and back our prior draft picks to continue development rather than finish bottom again.
We need to retain guys like Gibbs and if we don't start showing some good form then who knows he and others may look to leave like T-Bird nearly did.

Correct weight.
I for one hope we beat the Hawks this week just to kill these threads once and for all.
......but of course then it will be, should we only win 6 and stay in X position.....we don't want to finish 9th ......look at the Tiges..........blah blah........
Win. Win at all costs. Smart picks and some luck are often better than early picks.....a review of any recent draft year will show you that.
A winning mentality to the Carlton faithful is much more important then more draft picks. Winning gives our players confidence in their abilities, and also the fact that at seasons end big name players would see the potential in the Blues to join them. IMO a winning mentality is worth much more then draft picks, but I'm not saying that draft picks won't help either.

No way in the world Pagan would wanna lose on purpose. If he doesn't win a minimum of 2 for the rest of this year he could be in serious trouble.

Does anyone else think mods should just delete these stupid threads?
It's a sport and you play to win, end of story.

This question has been asked countless times in the past few weeks. I'm sick of it.
Look at Hawthorn last year as a model. They were in a very similar position to us this time last year and finished off the season strongly and have just kicked on from their. In addition to that they picked up Mitch Thorp who will be an absolute gun. At some stage winning becomes more important than getting the best draft pick and I think now we have a list that is at that point.
We are still probably going to finish around 12th so the draft pick should still be more than handy.

Just a few things:
1. If Melbourne beat Richmond next week, then the Tigers will win the spoon.
2. We have to get a winning culture into the club, and this won't happen if we tank for PP's.
3. The top 10 in this years draft will be as good as any, except for the couple of super drafts in '01 and '06, and Carlton will get a good player with their first selection.
4. We already have a great list of kids, and to be honest, one more won't make the difference winning a GF.

That's fine, and its nothing personal.
If you don't join the forurm regularly then you may not be aware that this topic has been done, over and over, so could be forgiven for starting a new thread (thought I think there isone only VERY recently started that you could have joined in on)
If you do read regularly, shame on you for rehashing.
That's my point.
Been done a thousand times.
