Without trying to be a doomsdayer, but just starting to face up to the reality that our chances this year are starting to fade, is there really anything to be gained by finishing in the bottom quarter of the top 8 this year.

I'm not talking about tanking or anything stupid, just curious as to other peoples thoughts.

I think we have paid dearly in the draft system for our consistent top 8 finishes over a long period of time. Do we actually achieve anything by finishing in the top 8 with no realistic chance of winning the big trophy?

All I know is if we finish 17th then we really are travelling badly.

The worst position to fnish in 9th, but I would take that over 16th any day. reagrdless of the draft picks.

16th is pretty bad. I have to watch Richmond every week. I think the Crows are better than 9th. Anyway they might surprise. Just do better than Port Adelaide :)

Depends.
7th is good if you have a young inexperienced team (say Port 2007), however 7th is no good if you have an ageing team (say Port 2005).
