i think the team is well settled and should be kept the same. maybe hartlett as an extra tall in defence for either blackwell or russell...

Is Eddie ready yet?

Nope. Still 3-4 weeks away. If the boys keep playing the way they have then Eddie might struggle to get back in (haven't said that in a while)

Suspect that Hawthorn might have to throw Roughead back to help the Hawks cover Fevola, Waite, Fisher and Whitnall.

Saying that though, Carlos might have to go down back and help out, which leaves us up the preverbial creek in the ruck. Unless we move Waite back to play on Franklin, and then give Wiggins more time on the ground.

Na i highly doubt we will make a change. with our winning form why would we need too? who would we honestly drop? once someone in our team sturggles or obviously gets injured we will make a change and get eddie back, as well as a few debutants in grigg and edwards. When was the last time we said we did not need a change at all?:thumbsu:

Read somewhere that Blackers got 10 possessions in something like 27% total game time.

That is a phenomenal effort. If he isn't being used there is no point having him sitting on the bench. He can clearly find the ball. Needs to be in the team and ON THE BLOODY FIELD.

You don't make changes to a team that wins by 40 points :D

He got a knock to the head/eye which took the wind out of his sails. Was sitting on the bench icing his eye for some time. Given how well we were travelling there was no need to send him back into the fray for any length of time. Best to rest him & have him 'cherry ripe' for Friday night's game against Hawthorn.

I think our midfield was running well and with russellfinding the ball a bit more and playing with confidence, with carrots in good form i think we can compensate for blackers. Aisake would free up Setanta to play on Franklin, NO WAY should we put Waite back there, thats playing into the Hawks hands by giving them one less forward to deal with, and Setanta probably has the hight, strength and versatility to go with Buddy. Also, with Hawtorn's lack of small forwards, it could be time to crank up Gibbs' education by putting him on a legend like Crawf or a hard-worker like Mitchell, it would be the best way for the kid to learn and someone like Mitchell seems like a great challenge and experience for him.
Yay or nay?

Has any one noticed what a good runner Russell is? He went for a few short runs against Port and seems to have a fair bit of speed in his legs

When will Kennedy likely be back?

As Pagan said we have been top heavy in previous weeks.........Im not keen on bringing in more talls for smalls.....I would like Kennedy to have a GOOD 6 WEEKS to regain confidence......I want to see him jumping at the ball.....beleiving he will take a mark......instead of worrying about dropping one

He didn't look very composed with his possessions. Didn't know about the knock to head so maybe that explains it as he is usually very good. Just looked a bit panicky when he got the ball.

Not every player can spend every minute on the field.

Having said that, no change this week.
The only change even worth pondering is another ruck to come up and release Setanta to go back onto Buddy or Roughie.......but no-one has really put their hand up this week, despite Pagan putting Aisake in the frame with his post match comments.

no need for any changes this week, i think we have got our balance right, no need to mess with it.

bringing in talls or smalls to expose another team could backfire as we start messing with our teams balance and move away from what has been successfull in proving consecutive wins.

if we were playing bad or losing then we need to look at alternatives.

I'm with you that is the only possible change if any.

Don't put Waite back in backline, Setanta is the one to go back if required.

Could Lance matchup on Roughead if he plays forward, how does roughead go for speed.

Bit too fast for Lance but Roughy's been underperforming lately so might work out... having said that tho, our forward lines a bit unpredicatble..goals come from anywhere from week to week

Think Aisake needs to come in to free up Setanta to play in the backline so we can leave Waite forward.

No No No.
One of the main reasons that we havent had major fade outs in the last couple of weeks is because when on of our starting midfielders has a rest, Blackwell can come in for 5-10 min and continue the pressure.

Our midfield rotations are very important when playing the high tempo game we are playing at the moment.

I have changed my mind after watching Hawks v Swans replay last night, don't think we need another tall.

Hawks have similar or worse issues countering our forwards.

Totally agree. It is defeatist to line him up there. He can do just as much damage as Franklin up foward. It is no conicidence that Waite's move into the foward line has conicided with our improvement in form.

Waite named at CHB :(

Thats is the only thing keeping me happy right now. I really hope he doesn't start there. Wherever he starts the game will really show where Carlton are at right now, if he starts at CHB, shows Carlton are too concerned about the other team and have a negative approach, and we will probably lose. If he lines up in the forward line, shows we are going to take it to them and really believe in ourselves, and should win.

The things that has changes over the last few weeks are the number of options we have in our forward line, we aren't good enough yet to be taking any away.

Anyway im sure he won't start there...well I hope not!
